Andrée Lachapelle
Andrée Lachapelle, (November 13, 1931 – November 21, 2019) was a French Canadian actress. Born in Montreal, she trained at age 14 at the Studio XV theatre school under Gerard Vleminckx, later attended teacher's college and taught elementary school for a few years. In 1952 she met actor Robert Gadouas, performed with him, and had three children before his death in 1969. She later appeared in plays by Michel Tremblay, Samuel Beckett and Tennessee Williams and in the films ''Rope Around the Neck (La corde au cou)'', ''YUL 871'', ''Laura Laur'', ''Léolo'', ''Cap Tourmente (film), Cap Tourmente'', ''Route 132 (film), Route 132'', ''The Last Escape (2010 film), The Last Escape'' and ''Don't Let the Angels Fall''. In 1985, Andrée Lachapelle was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. In 1997, she was made a Knight of the National Order of Quebec. Dolores LaChapelle (née Greenwell) (July 4, 1926 – January 21, 2007) was an American mountaineer, skier, T'ai chi teacher, independent scholar, and leader in the Deep ecology movement. Early life and background Born in Denver, Colorado on July 4, 1926, she attended Catholic girls schools and graduated from University of Denver in 1947 and then spent three years teaching skiing in Aspen, Colorado. Edward Randle "Ed" LaChapelle (May 31, 1926 – February 1, 2007) was an American avalanche researcher, glaciologist, mountaineer, skier, author, and professor. He was a pioneer in the field of avalanche research and forecasting in North America. Background LaChapelle was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. Émile Henri Lachapelle (12 September 1905 – February 1988) was a Swiss rowing coxswain and sailor who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics and in the 1948 Summer Olympics. In 1924 he won the gold medal as coxswain with the Swiss boat in the coxed pair event. Emmanuel-Persillier Lachapelle (21 December 1845 Р1 August 1918) was a Canadian physician and founder of the H̫pital Notre-Dame in Montreal, Quebec. Biography Lachapelle was born on 21 December 1845 in Sault-au-R̩collet to Pierre Persillier, '' dit'' Lachapelle, and Zo̩ Toupin. He attended the Petit S̩minaire de Montr̩al, followed by the Montreal School of Medicine and Surgery. Upon graduating in 1869, he began working as a physician at the H̫tel-Dieu de Montr̩al. In parallel with his medical career, he was editor of ''L'Union m̩dicale du Canada'' from 1876 to 1877. He joined the editorial committee from 1878 to 1882. Gérard Lachapelle
Gérard Lachapelle is a Canadian geomatics engineer and Professor Emeritus (CRC/iCore Chair in Wireless Location) at the University of Calgary Schulich School of Engineering which he was instrumental in founding. He was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2015 for "contributions to signal processing for global navigation satellite systems". Dr. Lachapelle holds degrees from Laval University, the University of Oxford, the University of Helsinki and the Technical University at Graz. He and colleagues founded Calgary-based Nortech Surveys to develop GPS equipment and applications in the early 80s.
