Labour Of Love (Frente! EP)
''Labour of Love'' is the third Extended Play by Australian alternative rock group Frente!. It was released outside of Australia in 1993. The EP peaked at number 10 on the US Top Heatseekers chart. Reviews JT Griffith of All Music gave the EP 4.5 out of 5 saying; " abour of Love isa collection of full songs and acoustic demos, the highlight is the standout cover of New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle". Five of the seven tracks are two minutes or less. "Labour of Love" and "Not Given Lightly" are representative of the Frente! sound: acoustic love songs built around Angie Hart's Lisa Loeb-like vocals. "Paper, Bullets, Walls" finds Frente! in a more upbeat groove. Overall, the band had a classic pre-grunge, alternative sound." Frente! (or Frente) were an Australian folk- pop and indie pop group which originally formed in 1989. The original line-up consisted of Simon Austin on guitar and backing vocals, Angie Hart on lead vocals, Tim O'Connor on bass guitar (later replaced by Bill McDonald), and Mark Picton on drums (later replaced by Alastair Barden, then by Peter Luscombe). In August 1991, they issued their debut extended play, ''Whirled'', which included the track, "Labour of Love". In March 1992, they released a second EP, '' Clunk'', with its featured track, "Ordinary Angels", which peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Singles Chart. It was followed in October by " Kelly Street" (unintentional misprint of "Accidentally Kelly Street" was retained) which reached No. 4. Lisa Loeb (; born March 11, 1968) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, author and actress. Angela Ruth Hart (born 8 March 1972), billed as Angie Hart, is an Australian pop singer best known for her role as lead vocalist in the alternative pop rock band Frente! and the indie pop duo Splendid with her then husband Jesse Tobias. New Order (band)
New Order are an English rock band formed in 1980 by vocalist and guitarist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris. The members regrouped after the demise of their previous band Joy Division due to the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. They were joined by Gillian Gilbert on keyboards later that year. New Order's integration of post-punk with electronic and dance music made them one of the most acclaimed and influential bands of the 1980s.
