Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Grupo Televisa is a Mexican multimedia mass media company. A major Latin American mass media corporation, it often presents itself as the largest producer of Spanish-language content. In April 2021, Televisa and Univision Communications announced that they had proposed a merger between Televisa's media and entertainment assets with Univision, which would form a new company to be known as TelevisaUnivision. Óscar Morelli
Oscar Morelli, born Oscar Bonfiglio Mouet (February 4, 1936 in Guaymas, Sonora – June 6, 2005 in Mexico City), was a Mexican actor. Morelli debuted as an actor in the 1960s working in radio, theater, television and film. He also was director and sports writer. In 1983, Morelli starred in the Puerto Rican canal 4's production, Poquita Cosa, a telenovela in which he shared credits with co-protagonist Angela Meyer, with Junior Alvarez, Yolandita Monge, Myrna de Casenave, Amneris Morales and Pedro Orlando Torres, among other Puerto Rican show-business legends. Participation in this soap opera gave Morelli fame in Puerto Rico. Ada Carrasco (14 September 1912 – 5 April 1994) was a Mexican film and television actress. Early life Carrasco was born in Mexico City, the daughter of Honorato Carrasco, an engineer, and the opera star Ada Navarrete. Career Carrasco started her career as an actress in 1952, and went on to make over 38 soap operas, including ''Los Ricos También Lloran'', with Verónica Castro in 1979, '' Rosa Salvaje'' in 1987, ''De Frente al Sol'' in 1992, ''Más Allá del Puente'' in 1994, and finally, her last soap opera was made in 1994 in '' Marimar'' with Thalía. Telesistema Mexicano was the predecessor of Televisa. Telesistema Mexicano was a television alliance made up of the independently owned television flagship stations XEW Canal 2, XHTV Canal 4, and XHGC Canal 5 in Mexico, Distrito Federal.
