Inés Rodena
Inés Rodena (April 20, 1905 in Havana, Cuba – April 15, 1985 in Miami, USA) was a Cuban radio and television writer. Life and career Before becoming a writer Rodena worked as a nurse. Through her experiences with her patients and stories recounted by people with whom she came in contact, her passion for writing was born. In the 50s she wrote her first novel, ''La Gata'' (The Cat) for radio, which was a great success. In 1968 she brought ''La Gata'' to television with great success under the production of the Venezuelan state television channel. In 1969 she went to work at Radio Caracas Television. In 1971, she recorded ''La usurpadora (Venezuelan TV series), La usurpadora'' (The Usurper). Agnes' novels all met with great success, being recorded in Mexico, Venezuela and other Latin American countries. Marina Baura (born November 1, 1941) is a former Venezuelan telenovela actress. Early life Born as Julia Pérez in Galicia, Spain, she moved with her parents and brother Jesús to Venezuela when she was 15 years old, in 1956. She started her professional career in the early 1960s as a model in '' El Show de Renny'', a popular variety show hosted by Renny Ottolina and aired on Radio Caracas Televisión. She later studied dramatic art under the direction of Paul Antillano, and made her debut in the Venevisión TV-series ''Casos y cosas de casa''. After that she worked with Simón Díaz in his comedy sitcom ''La Quinta de Simón'', while playing small roles in several telenovelas. Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) was a Venezuelan free-to-air television network headquartered in the Caracas neighborhood of Quinta Crespo. It was sometimes referred to as the Canal de Bárcenas. Owned by Empresas 1BC, Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) was inaugurated on 15 November 1953 by William H. Phelps, Jr. Its radio counterpart was Radio Caracas Radio. On 27 May 2007, president Hugo Chávez decided to shut down the channel by refusing to renew their broadcast concession, accusing the channel of being involved in the 2002 coup d'état in Venezuela, which briefly overthrew his government. ''Rina'' is a Mexican telenovela produced by Valentín Pimstein for Televisa. It was written by Inés Rodena and starring Ofelia Medina as a eponymous hunchback, Enrique Álvarez Félix as her love interest and María Rubio as the main villain of the history. It is based on the radionovela "Enamorada". Plot Rina is a poor hunchback woman selling flowers on the streets of Mexico City. This is based on the radionovela ''Yo no creo en los hombres'' written by Caridad Bravo Adams. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. Carlos Olivier
Carlos Olivier (''Carlos Raúl Fernández Olivier'') (26 January 195222 January 2007), was a Venezuelan actor, famous for his roles in telenovelas, including ''Leonela'', ''El País de las Mujeres'', ''Viva la Pepa'', '' Las González'', ''Engañada'', and ''Los Querendones''. Olivier was a member of the Factory of Young Actors of RCTV. During the five years that he lived in the United States, Olivier appeared in two episodes of the police TV series Miami Vice, hosted the TV show ''El Gran Evento con Carlos Olivier'' on Telemundo, and recorded two albums with producer Emilio Estefan.
