La Dolce Vita (After Dark Song)
"La dolce vita" is a song written by Larry Forsberg, Sven-Inge Sjöberg and Lennard Wastesson, and originally performed by After Dark (Christer Lindarw and Lasse Flinckman) at Melodifestivalen 2004, where the song competed in the semifinal in Malmö on 13 March 2004, before reaching the final inside the Stockholm Globe Arena, where it ended up 3rd. On stage both men wore pink dresses, the same style as Lena Philipsson wore when her song "Det gör ont" won the contest that year. On the Swedish singles chart, the single peaked at number 8. The song also stayed at Svensktoppen for eleven weeks during the period of 4 April-13 June 2004, topping the chart three times before leaving it. After Dark (drag Act)
After Dark (1976–2018) was a Swedish drag act starring entertainer Christer Lindarw who eventually also began appearing intermittently out of drag and singing with his own voice. Show history The group was put together for a special Stockholm nightclub called After Dark Club immediately after Lindarw with Roger Jönsson had appeared in ''Wild Side Story'' at Alexandra's in January 1976 and also in February, with an added co-star Lars "Lasse" Flinckman. Its immediate appeal with Alexandra's clientele has been cited as instrumental to rapid and early success. Since that time, After Dark has been a major ingredient in Swedish LGBT culture. Jönsson however left the group for another in 1981 and died in 1984. The Lindarw-Flinckman duo had international success, performing in Barcelona, Madrid and San Francisco.
