Kim Kay
Kim Van Hee (born 22 February 1978), better known by her stage name Kim Kay or Daphne is a Belgian pop/rock singer. She is Flemish, though she is known for delivering vocals in French. Kay took part in the Belgian preselection of the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest with a song called The Sun Shines. Kim Kay's arguably most famous work is her dance single "Lilali", which was a hit in Europe, beyond Belgium and France, where she booked her overall greatest successes throughout her career. "Le Banana Split" is the debut single by Belgian pop singer Lio. It was a very big hit when it was first released in 1979, selling 700,000 copies. It is considered today Lio's signature song. Background "Le Banana Split" was remixed in 1995 and re-released to promote Lio's greatest hits album ''Peste Of!''. Live performances In 1996, Lio performed a punk version of "Le Banana Split" on the French TV show " Taratata". In 2009, Lio performed a mostly acoustic version of "Le Banana Split" on the French TV show ''TV5 Acoustic''. In 2012, Lio performed "Le Banana Split" during the "RFM Party 80" Tour backed by the original instrumental track. Jörn-Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen (born 10 March 1960) is a German keyboard player, producer and composer. Carlo Karges
Carlo Karges (31 July 1951 – 30 January 2002) was a German musician who became a guitarist and songwriter for the rock band, Nena. He wrote the lyrics of Nena's most famous song, "99 Luftballons", released in 1983. He was attending a 1982 Rolling Stones concert at the Waldbühne (the "Forest Theatre") in West Berlin, when they released a large mass of helium balloons into the air. He wondered how East German or Soviet forces might react if the balloons crossed the Berlin Wall, and thus he conceived the idea for the song about a major war resulting from misidentification of a mass of balloons. Karges was born in Hamburg and grew up with his single mother there. As a student he started to play guitar and to compose songs. "99 Luftballons" (german: link=no, Neunundneunzig Luftballons, "99 balloons") is a song by the German band Nena from their 1983 self-titled album. An English-language version titled "99 Red Balloons", with lyrics by Kevin McAlea, was also released on the album ''99 Luftballons'' in 1984 after widespread success of the original in Europe and Japan. The English version is not a direct translation of the German original and contains lyrics with a somewhat different meaning. Jacno
Jacno (3 July 1957 in Paris – 6 November 2009) was a French musician. Born as Denis Quilliard, he was a founding member of the first French punk band The Stinky Toys. In the early 1980s, after the group disbanded, he teamed up with former Stinky Toys singer Elli Medeiros to form the pop duo Elli et Jacno. Jacno had also released a number of solo albums since 1979. He took his professional name from the name of the graphic artist who drew the Gallic helmet logo of French Gauloises cigarettes brand. In 1999, the Italian DJ Gigi D'Agostino used the track Rectangle for his song La Passion. The song was a hit in Austria and Belgium where it became a number-one single, and was very popular in other European countries. Elli Medeiros (born 18 January 1956) is a Uruguayan-French singer and actress. Career Stinky Toys Originally from Uruguay, Medeiros moved to Paris, France, at the age of 14, dropped out of high school a couple of years later and joined the punk band Stinky Toys. Elli et Jacno After the group disbanded, Medeiros joined another Stinky Toy member Jacno to form the electropop duo Elli et Jacno. Together they released several albums, one of them the soundtrack to an Éric Rohmer film ''Les nuits de la pleine lune''. Solo The singer went solo in 1986.
