La Guerre Est Meurtre
''La Guerre Est Meurtre'' is an album by Von Hemmling. Self described by Jim McIntyre as a "linear nonlinear history of Von Hemmling" and a "stream of consciousness", it features a variety of recordings by McIntyre from 1984 to 2001. Broken up into six different "sections", much of the album is noise effects and edited recordings from bands such as The Apples in Stereo and the Lilys. The album was mixed and mastered between 2001 and 2002. It is currently available on the official Von Hemmling website in six separate .wav files. Von Hemmling
Von Hemmling is the solo project of Jim McIntyre and one of many experimental music projects associated with The Elephant 6 Recording Company. Though Jim McIntyre is the band's primary performer, Hilarie Sidney and John Hill have both been members of Von Hemmling before becoming members of The Apples in Stereo. Other frequent collaborators include Rich Sandoval, Rob Greene, Dane Terry, Mike Snowden, John Ferguson, Trevor Tremaine and Mike Buckley. Von Hemmling was named by Denver artist Little Fyodor Little Fyodor is the performance name of Dave Lichtenberg, an underground punk/garage musician from Denver, Colorado, who has been on the scene for four decades. Experimental Music
Experimental music is a general label for any music or music genre that pushes existing boundaries and genre definitions.
