''Corruption'' ( it, La corruzione) is a 1963 Italian drama film directed by Mauro Bolognini. Plot A young man upon finishing college announces to his publisher father that he wants to become a priest. The father who wants his son to take over the family business does not like this idea at all. He proposes a yacht trip to his son that will give them the chance to spend a few days together and maybe find a middle ground. Dad also invites his mistress without telling his son. During the trip there is a lot of sexual tension between the young man and the mistress. Despite the fact that she is his father's mistress the young man sleeps with her. The next day he asks for his father's forgiveness. After the trip the young man visits the company where he comes across a bizarre incident. One of the employees who was falsely accused of embezzlement commits suicide. Mauro Bolognini
Mauro Bolognini (28 June 1922 – 14 May 2001) was an Italian film and stage director of literate sensibility, known for his masterly handling of period subject matter. Early years Bolognini was born in Pistoia, in the Tuscany region of Italy. After earning a master's degree in architecture at the University of Florence, Bolognini enrolled at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Italian National Film Academy) in Rome, where he studied stage design. After graduation, he became interested in film direction and set out to work as an assistant to directors Luigi Zampa in Italy, and Yves Allégret and Jean Delannoy in France. Giovanni Fusco
Giovanni Fusco (10 October 1906, Sant'Agata dei Goti, Benevento – 31 May 1968, Rome) was an Italian composer, pianist and conductor, who has written numerous film scores since 1936, including those of Alain Resnais's ''Hiroshima mon amour'' (1959) and '' La guerre est finie'' (1966), as well as those of most of the 1948-1964 films directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, from '' N.U.'' (''Nettezza Urbana'') to '' Il deserto rosso'', except for ''La notte'' (soundtrack by Giorgio Gaslini) and some of his early short films. Two of his soundtracks, those of Antonioni's ''Cronaca di un amore'' and ''L'avventura'', won Silver Ribbon for the best film score from Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists in 1951 and 1961, respectively. Leonida Barboni (23 November 1909 – 6 November 1970) was an Italian film cinematographer. Nino Baragli (1 October 1925 – 29 May 2013) was an Italian film editor with more than 200 film credits. Among his films in English, ''The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'' (1966) and ''Once Upon a Time in the West'' (1968), both directed by Sergio Leone, are perhaps the best known. Jacques Perrin (born Jacques André Simonet; 13 July 1941 – 21 April 2022) was a French actor and film producer. He was occasionally credited as Jacques Simonet.
