''La Cita'' (English:''The date'' or ''The appointment'') is the tenth studio album by the Mexican pop singer Daniela Romo. This album was released on 1994 and it was produced by Bebu Silvetti. The producer took advantage of the telenovela "Si Dios Me Quita La Vida" (''If God takes away my life'') to release this album that has the main theme of that soap opera. Sales were not good to the albums, when the critics were not impressed with the telenovela. Daniela Romo (born Teresa Presmanes Corona; 27 August 1959) is a Mexican singer, actress and TV hostess. During her career, she has sold 17 million records, making her one of the best-selling Latin music artists. Biography Born Teresa Presmanes Corona on 27 August 1959, in Mexico City, Mexico, her parents never married, and Daniela and her sister Patricia were raised by their grandmother. As a child she idolized Rocío Dúrcal, whom she credits for inspiring her to become an actress and a recording artist. Ranchera
Ranchera () or canción ranchera is a genre of traditional music of Mexico. It dates to before the years of the Mexican Revolution. Rancheras today are played in virtually all regional Mexican music styles. Drawing on rural traditional folk music, the ranchera developed as a symbol of a new national consciousness in reaction to the aristocratic tastes of the period. The classic "rancheras" songs usually talk about life in Mexico not only in rural areas, but also portray life in Mexico at the time of the bandits. Bolero
Bolero is a genre of song which originated in eastern Cuba in the late 19th century as part of the trova tradition. Unrelated to the older Spanish dance of the same name, bolero is characterized by sophisticated lyrics dealing with love. It has been called the "quintessential Latin American romantic song of the twentieth century". Unlike the simpler, thematically diverse ''canción'', bolero did not stem directly from the European lyrical tradition, which included Italian opera and canzone, popular in urban centers like Havana at the time. Instead, it was born as a form of romantic folk poetry cultivated by a new breed of troubadour from Santiago de Cuba, the ''trovadores''. Pepe Sánchez is considered the father of this movement and the author of the first bolero, "Tristezas", written in 1883. Fonovisa Records is an American Spanish language record label founded in 1984 by Guillermo Santiso as a subsidiary of Televisa. Its former name before being acquired by Televisa in 1984 was Profono Internacional, which was founded in 1978. Fonovisa mainly produces Mexican style music. Juan Fernando Silvetti Adorno (27 March 1944 – 5 July 2003), professionally known as Bebu Silvetti or simply Silvetti, was an Argentine- born Mexican pianist, composer, conductor, arranger, and record producer. This album was released in 1992, and it was produced by Bebu Silvetti, and it was a slight departure from the Pop sound of her 1991 predecessor, borrowing tendencies from caribbean music, with tropical arrangements very similar to the ones presented on her 1991 hit "Todo Todo Todo" from her last album. This was the last project of Daniela with EMI Capitol. It is also the last album of Daniela that appears in three different formats: LP, cassette and CD. ''Segundo Romance'' ( en, italic=yes, Second Romance) is the tenth studio album by Mexican singer Luis Miguel, released on 30 August 1994 through WEA Latina. Like Miguel's 1991 album ''Romance'', ''Segundo Romance'' comprises cover versions of boleros (Latin ballads) written between 1934 and 1993.
