LaDontae Henton
LaDontae Henton (born January 6, 1992) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Providence before playing professionally in Spain, the Philippines, NBA G League, Hungary and Israel. He is currently a special assistant to the head coach at Providence. High school career A 6'6" small forward, Henton went to Eastern High School in Lansing, Michigan, where he was a four-time first-team all-state player and averaged 22.2 points per game for his career. He left as the fourth best rebounder in Michigan prep history, averaging 14.5 rebounds per game. College career Henton originally was set to attend Dayton, but after Dayton coach Brian Gregory left for Georgia Tech, he became new Providence coach Ed Cooley's first recruit. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. Providence Friars
The Providence Friars are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Providence College, located in Providence, Rhode Island. They compete in the Big East Conference (NCAA Division I) for every sport except for ice hockey, where they compete in Hockey East. The Big East Conference was founded in 1979 by former athletic director and men's basketball coach Dave Gavitt. Big East Conference
The Big East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference that competes in NCAA Division I in ten men's sports and twelve women's sports. Headquartered in New York City, the eleven full-member schools are primarily located in Northeast and Midwest metropolitan areas. The conference was officially recognized as a Division I multi-sport conference on August 1, 2013, and since then conference members have won NCAA national championships in men's basketball, women's cross country, field hockey, men's lacrosse, and men's soccer. Ed Cooley (born September 10, 1969) is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach of the Providence College Friars men's basketball team. Cooley held the same position at Fairfield University from 2006 to 2011. He received the inaugural 2010 Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year Award, presented annually to the top minority men's college basketball coach in the nation. Early years Cooley was born on September 10, 1969 in Providence, Rhode Island to Jane Cooley and Edward Smith. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's basketball team represents the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in NCAA Division I basketball. The team plays its home games in McCamish Pavilion on the school's Atlanta campus and is currently coached by Josh Pastner. Brian Francis Gregory (born December 15, 1966) is an American college basketball coach who was most recently the head men's basketball coach at South Florida Bulls men's basketball, South Florida. He was previously serving as a consultant to Tom Izzo at Michigan State Spartans men's basketball, Michigan State after being let go as head coach with Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's basketball, Georgia Tech.
