La'Vere Corbin-Ong
La'Vere Lawrence Corbin-Ong (born 22 April 1991) is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Malaysia Super League side Johor Darul Ta'zim and the Malaysia national team. Early life He was born in London, England, where his parents, Lawrence Corbin (Barbadian) and Elizabeth Ong (Malaysian Chinese), were studying psychiatry and nursing respectively. Corbin-Ong was one year old when his family moved to Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta. When he was four years of age, his family moved to North Vancouver, where he was raised. He played a variety of sports in his youth, including football, lacrosse, gridiron football and tennis. Corbin-Ong was six years old when he started playing football for the Lynn Valley SA. The Malaysia national football team () represents Malaysia in international football and is controlled by the Football Association of Malaysia. The national team is recognised by FIFA as the successor of the defunct Malaya national football team which was founded for the 1963 Merdeka Tournament one month before the institution of Malaysia. The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. The NOFV-Oberliga Nord is the fifth tier of the German football league system in the northern states of the former East Germany and West Berlin.
