The L postcode area, also known as the Liverpool postcode area, is a group of postcode districts in north-west England, which are subdivisions of four post towns. These cover most of Merseyside (including Liverpool, Bootle and Prescot), part of west Lancashire (including Ormskirk) and a small part of north-west Cheshire. Postcodes In The United Kingdom
Postal codes used in the United Kingdom, British Overseas Territories and Crown dependencies are known as postcodes (originally, postal codes). They are alphanumeric and were adopted nationally between 11 October 1959 and 1974, having been devised by the General Post Office ( Royal Mail). A full postcode is known as a "postcode unit" and designates an area with several addresses or a single major delivery point. Kensington, Liverpool
Kensington is an inner city area of Liverpool, England, immediately to the east of the city centre, bordered by Everton to the north, Fairfield to the east and Edge Hill to the south. The majority of Kensington is in the Kensington and Fairfield ward, while the westernmost part, Kensington Fields, is in the Central ward. At the 2001 Census, Kensington had a population of 12,740. Description The area is occupied largely by Victorian terraced houses. Croxteth
Croxteth is a suburb of Liverpool, Merseyside, England, and a Liverpool City Council Ward. Although housing in the area is predominantly modern, the suburb has some notable history. At the United Kingdom 2011 Census it had a population of 14,561. History The name is believed to derive from a contraction of ''Crocker's Staithe'', or the landing place of Crocker, which is a likely reference to a Viking landing via the River Alt, which passes through Croxteth and at the time of the Viking invasion of Britain was navigable through the area. The similar root is also possible for Toxteth. Prehistoric tools were found on a site in Croxteth in 1992, though there were no signs of any permanent settlement. Clubmoor is a neighbourhood of Liverpool, Merseyside, England, in the Liverpool City Council ward of Clubmoor. It is part of the Liverpool Walton Parliamentary constituency. At the 2001 Census the population of Clubmoor ward was recorded as 13,387. Kirkby ( ) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, England. The town, historically in Lancashire, has a size of is north of Huyton and north-east of Liverpool. Orrell Park is a district of Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is a small residential area of northern Liverpool between the larger neighbouring districts of Aintree and Walton-on-the-Hill. Aintree
Aintree is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England. Historically in Lancashire, it lies between Walton and Maghull on the A59 road, north-east of Liverpool city centre, in North West England. It is best known as the site of Aintree Racecourse, which since the 19th century has staged the Grand National horserace. Toxteth
Toxteth is an inner-city area of Liverpool in the historic county of Lancashire and the ceremonial county of Merseyside. Toxteth is located to the south of Liverpool city centre, bordered by Aigburth, Canning, Dingle, and Edge Hill. The area was originally part of a royal park and known as Toxteth Park.
