Biochronology
In paleontology, biochronology is the correlation in time of biological events using fossils. In its strict sense, it refers to the use of assemblages of fossils that are not tied to stratigraphic sections (in contrast to biostratigraphy, where they are). Collections of land mammal ages have been defined for every continent except Antarctica, and most are correlated with each other indirectly through known evolutionary lineages. A combination of argon–argon dating and magnetostratigraphy, magnetic stratigraphy allows a direct temporal comparison of terrestrial events with climate variability, climate variations and Extinction event, mass extinctions. Comparison with biostratigraphy In sedimentary rocks, fossils are the only widely applicable tool for time correlation. Evolution leaves a record of progressive change, sequential and nonrepeating. A rock unit has a characteristic Faunal assemblage, assemblage of fossils, independent of its lithology. Thus, the fossils can be use ...

Liga Veneto Autonomo
Liga Veneto Autonomo (Autonomous Veneto League, LVA) was a Venetian nationalism, Venetist List of political parties in Veneto, political party active in Veneto. LFV was formed in early 2010 by senior members of Liga Veneta Repubblica (LVR), notably including Giorgio Vido and Bortolino Sartore, in the run up of the 2010 Venetian regional election. They disagreed with Fabrizio Comencini's decision to support Antonio De Poli of the Union of Christian and Centre Democrats (UDC) as President and wanted to support Giuseppe Bortolussi of the Democratic Party (Italy), Democratic Party (PD) instead. A leading member of the UDC, Antonio Guadagnini, chose to enter the new party, that received also the support of Franco Rocchetta, founder of Liga Veneta in 1978–1980. However, Guadagnini later withdrew from the race and the LVA was able to file a list only in the Province of Vicenza, where it gained 1.1% of the vote, retaining the majority of the votes LVR gained in 2005 Venetian regional ele ...

Live Variable Analysis
In compilers, live variable analysis (or simply liveness analysis) is a classic data-flow analysis to calculate the variables that are ''live'' at each point in the program. A variable is ''live'' at some point if it holds a value that may be needed in the future, or equivalently if its value may be read before the next time the variable is written to. Example Consider the following program: b = 3 c = 5 a = f(b * c) The set of live variables between lines 2 and 3 is because both are used in the multiplication on line 3. But the set of live variables after line 1 is only , since variable c is updated later, on line 2. The value of variable a is not used in this code. Note that the assignment to a may be eliminated as a is not used later, but there is insufficient information to justify removing all of line 3 as f may have side effects (printing b * c, perhaps). Expression in terms of dataflow equations Liveness analysis is a "backwards may" analysis. The analysis is done ...

London Video Arts
London Video Arts (LVA) was founded for the promotion, distribution and exhibition of video art. Art form By 1976 video art had emerged as a viable time-based art form, which was beginning to establish its own aesthetic identity and theoretical discourse distinct from film. Following the influential Video Show at the Serpentine Gallery in May 1975, which brought the work of international video artists to London and showcased British artists working in the medium, it became apparent that the increased activity in British video art required an organisation to provide support for the artists involved. The idea for London Video Arts (LVA) was initiated by David Hall and founded in summer 1976 by a group of video artists including Roger Barnard, David Critchley, Tamara Krikorian, Brian Hoey, Pete Livingstone, Stuart Marshall, Stephen Partridge, John Turpie and Hall.
