LNFA 2010
The 2010 season of the LNFA was the 16th season of top-tier American football in Spain. In the 2010 season the league expanded to 15 teams, divided into three conferences of five teams each. The Conferencia Española included the five top teams of the 2009 season. At the end of the regular season, the top two of the Conferencia Española acceded directly to the semifinals for the title, and faced the winners of the playoff between wild cards. Rivas Osos (''Rivas Bears'' in English language) is an American football team based in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, Community of Madrid (Spain). They have won the LNFA twice, in 2001 and 2022, and were runners-up in 1999, 2002, 2012 and 2023. They have also conquered the Spanish Cup in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2009. History The beginnings The team was established in the spring of 1989 as ''Madrid Bears'', changing names to ''Madrid Osos'' when they joined their first official competition by the end of that year, the Second Catalan Football League. During those first years, the team received a lot of help (equipment, players, coaching staff, etc.) from the American soldiers stationed at the nearby base of Torrejón. The Valencia Firebats are a gridiron team based in Valencia, Valencian Community (Spain). History The team was established in April, 1993, as Valencia Bats, joining the defunct ''American Football League (AFL)'' for the 1994 season. The following season a new national league is created in Spain, divided in two divisions, First and Second. Valencia Bats are invited to compete in the First Division, where they have been playing ever since. The L'Hospitalet Pioners (; "L'Hospitalet Pioneers") are a gridiron football team based in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Catalonia (Spain). Badalona Dracs
The Badalona Dracs (, "Badalona Dragons") are a gridiron football team based in Badalona, Catalonia. History Three American football enthusiasts got together in Badalona on a December 1987's evening to found the team. They were Pere Moliner, first president of the team, Ramón Ventura and Italian Alfonso Genchi. The team was founded as Badalona Drags. Just a few months later, the team was established and the first ever American football game played in Spain was set for March 19th, 1988. Badalona Dracs played Palermo Cardinals (Italy), with a score of 18–12 for the Italians. Later on, the first organized league in Spain was created with the Dracs joining three other teams, L'Hospitalet Pioners, Barcelona Búfals and the defunct Barcelona Boxers. Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano (LNFA) is the name of the top Gridiron football, gridiron league which operates in Spain. It was first founded in 1988 and reorganized in 1995 after the merge of several previous Spanish competitions. The league is run by the Spanish Federation of American Football (''Federación Española de Futbol Americano (FEFA)'' in Spanish language). At the end of the season, league champion and runner up clinch bids to compete at next year's European Football League, while third and fourth teams classify for the EFAF Cup.
