LG Prada
The LG KE850, also known as the LG Prada, is a touchscreen mobile phone made by LG Electronics. It was first announced on December 12, 2006 and was created in collaboration with Italian luxury designer Prada. It was made official in a press release on January 18, 2007. Sales started in May 2007, retailing for about $777 (600 euros). It is the first mobile phone with a capacitive touchscreen. The KE850 sold 1 million units in the first 18 months. A second version of the phone, the LG Prada II (KF900) was released December 2008. The LG Prada was announced shortly before Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced the iPhone on January 9, 2007. After the release of the iPhone the head of the LG Mobile Handset R&D Center was quoted saying he believed Apple had stolen the idea from the KE850 after it was announced as part of the iF Design Award. Motorola Razr2
The Motorola Razr2 (often stylized as RAZR2) is a series of clamshell/flip mobile phones from Motorola, and is one of the series in the 4LTR line. It is the successor to the popular Razr series. The Razr2 is 2 mm thinner than its predecessor but slightly wider. Some versions feature Motorola's MotoMagx operational platform, based on the MontaVista Linux OS. The Razr2 was made available on every US carrier, and EVDO, GSM and HSDPA versions of it were released by late 2007. The phone improved picture quality, speed and multimedia capabilities over the original Razr. Samsung P520 Giorgio Armani
The Samsung SGH-P520 is a mobile phone created by Samsung Electronics, announced on September 24, 2007, at a Giorgio Armani fashion show in Milan in a partnership between the two companies. It is the successor to the Samsung P310 (and the P300 before that), classified by Samsung as a "credit card-phone". Originally retailing at 750 euros ($1100), it has a 2.6-inch touchscreen with haptic feedback similar to that of the LG Viewty and a 3-megapixel camera. It uses Samsung's "Croix" user interface. The Samsung Giorgio Armani's design would heavily influence the Samsung Tocco handset in 2008. The LG-KU990 or LG-KE990 (known and marketed as the LG Viewty) is a high-end mobile phone manufactured by LG Electronics, released in August 2007. It has a resistive touchscreen and was specially marketed for its camera, being the first touchscreen phone with a powerful camera. It was succeeded by the LG Renoir and later LG Viewty Smart. The Red Dot Design Award is a German international design prize awarded by Red Dot GmbH & Co. KG. There are prize categories for product design, brands and communication design, and design concept. Since 1955, designers and producers can apply for the prizes, with the winners being presented in an annual ceremony.
