La Femme Nikita (TV Series)
''La Femme Nikita'' (, literally "The Woman Nikita"; called ''Nikita'' in Canada) is a Canadian action-drama television series based on the French film ''Nikita'' by Luc Besson. The series was co-produced by Jay Firestone of Fireworks Entertainment and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. It was adapted for television by Joel Surnow. The series was telecast in the United States on the USA Network cable channel on January 13, 1997, and ran for five seasons until March 4, 2001. The series was also aired in Canada on the over-the-air CTV Television Network. ''La Femme Nikita'' was the highest-rated drama on American basic cable during its first two seasons. It was also distributed in some other countries. Comparison with the film In the original Luc Besson film (and in the American remake ''Point of No Return'' (also released as ''The Assassin''), also released by Warner Bros.), Nikita is a drug-addicted juvenile delinquent who kills a police officer in cold blood duri ...

Lingua Franca Nova
Lingua Franca Nova (), abbreviated as LFN and known colloquially as Elefen, is an auxiliary constructed language originally created by C. George Boeree of Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania, and further developed by many of its users. Its vocabulary is based on the Romance languages French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan. Lingua Franca Nova has phonemic spelling based on 22 letters from the Latin script. The grammar of Lingua Franca Nova is inspired by the Romance creole languages. As most creole languages, Lingua Franca Nova has an extremely simplified grammatical system that is easy to learn. History Boeree started to design Lingua Franca Nova in 1965, with the goal of creating an international auxiliary language simple, coherent and easy to learn for international communication. He was inspired by the Mediterranean Lingua Franca or " Sabir", a Romance pidgin used by European sailors and merchants as a lingua franca in the Mediterranean Basin from the 11–18t ...

Long Fat Network
In data communications, the bandwidth-delay product is the product of a data link's capacity (in bits per second) and its round-trip delay time (in seconds). The result, an amount of data measured in bits (or bytes), is equivalent to the maximum amount of data on the network circuit at any given time, i.e., data that has been transmitted but not yet acknowledged. The bandwidth-delay product was originally proposed as a rule of thumb for sizing router buffers in conjunction with congestion avoidance algorithm Random Early Detection (RED). A network with a large bandwidth-delay product is commonly known as a long fat network (shortened to LFN). As defined in , a network is considered an LFN if its bandwidth-delay product is significantly larger than 105 bits (12,500 bytes). Ultra-high speed local area networks (LANs) may fall into this category, where protocol tuning is critical for achieving peak throughput, on account of their extremely high bandwidth, even though their delay ...
