Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) is the lead agency responsible for coordinating housing and social services for the homeless in Los Angeles County. LAHSA allocates funds and administers contracts with regional agencies that provide emergency, transitional and permanent housing, and other services that assist homeless individuals. In the 2022-2023 fiscal year, LAHSA had an annual budget of . The Lhasa Apso ( ) is a non-sporting dog breed originating in Tibet. It has traditionally been used as an interior sentinel. Etymology Lhasa is the capital city of Tibet, and ''apso'' is a word from the Tibetan language. There is some debate over the exact origin of the name; some claim that the word "apso" is an anglicized form of the Tibetan word for goatee ("ag-tshom", ཨག་ཚོམ་) or perhaps "ra-pho" (ར་ཕོ་) meaning "billy goat". It may also be a compound noun meaning "bark-guard" (lit. "ap" ½¨à½” to bark, and "so" ½¦à½¼à¼‹ to guard). History The Lhasa Apso originated in Tibet. Los Angeles High School of the Arts—LAHSA is on the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools, Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools campus, on Wilshire Boulevard in the Koreatown, Los Angeles, Koreatown district of Central Los Angeles, California. The public specialty high school is within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) It was formerly known as the BAPA (Belmont Academy of Performing Arts), small learning community established in 1998 by the LAUSD. As was, LAHSA continues BAPA's mission, preparing its students for enrollment and success in four-year university programs, with an emphasis placed on the performing arts: drama, singing, and dancing. Students take classes in Scenic design, set design, sound production, and lighting design.
