HMS L9
HMS ''L9'' was an L-class submarine built for the Royal Navy during World War I. The boat survived the war and was sold for scrap in 1927. Design and description ''L9'' and its successors were enlarged to accommodate 21-inch (53.3 cm) torpedoes and more fuel. The submarine had a length of overall, a beam of and a mean draft of .Gardiner & Gray, p. 93 They displaced on the surface and submerged. The L-class submarines had a crew of 38 officers and ratings.Akermann, p. 165 For surface running, the boats were powered by two 12-cylinder Vickers diesel engines, each driving one propeller shaft. When submerged each propeller was driven by a electric motor. They could reach on the surface and underwater. On the surface, the L class had a range of at . The boats were armed with four 21-inch torpedo tubes in the bow and two 18-inch (45 cm) in broadside mounts. They carried four reload torpedoes for the 21-inch tubes for a grand total of ten torpedoes of all sizes. ...

L9A1 51 Mm Light Mortar
The L9A1 51 mm light mortar was a man-portable platoon-level mortar used by the British Army from 1988 to 2007. The 51 mm mortar replaced the World War II-vintage 2 inch mortar in the late 1980s. It was due to be phased out by the use of the 40 mm L17A2 underslung grenade launcher (UGL) mounted on the L85A2 service rifle; however operational experience has led to the decision to replace it with a 60mm mortar. The Hirtenberger AG M6-895 60 mm Mortar was procured in 2007 as an Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR) to replace the current 51 mm Mortar on current operations. Design Ammunition for the 51 mm mortar has a small, ring-pull safety pin on the side of the nose-fuze. The fuze remains unarmed until the pin is withdrawn. Therefore, the safety pin must always be removed and discarded before a mortar shell is fired. A short range insert device allows the weapon to be used in a direct fire mode. Smoke, illuminating and high explosive An explosive (or explosive material) ...

60S Ribosomal Protein L9
60S ribosomal protein L9 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''RPL9'' gene. Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 60S subunit. The protein belongs to the L6P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in the cytoplasm. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene dispersed through the genome. Two alternatively spliced Alternative splicing, or alternative RNA splicing, or differential splicing, is an alternative splicing process during gene expression that allows a single gene to code for multiple proteins. In this process, particular exons of a gene may be in ... transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. References Further ...

Level 9's first release was an extension to Nascom BASIC called ''Extension Basic''. The first game, also for the Nascom, was called ''Fantasy'' and was similar to ''Valhalla'', but with no graphics. Other products from that era were ''Missile Defence'', ''Bomber'' and ''Space Invasion'' — all for the Nascom. The tapes were duplicated and sent out by mail order by the brothers based on orders generated by the classified advertisements they ran in the ''Computing Today'' magazine. Stinson L-9
The Stinson Voyager was a 1940s American light utility monoplane built by the Stinson Aircraft Company. Development First developed as the Stinson HW-75 and marketed as the Model 105 in 1939, the design was a high-wing three-seat braced monoplane powered by either a 75-hp (63.4-Kw) Continental A-75 or an 80-hp (67.7-Kw) Continental A-80-6. This was developed into the Model 10 powered by a Continental A-80 piston engine. The Model 10 introduced a wider cabin as well as an improved standard for the interior and finish.Orbis 1985, p. 2960. The Model 10 was followed by the Model 10A, powered by a Franklin 4AC-199 engine and the Model 10B with a Lycoming GO-145. The 10A was the last of the series, but the first to be called "Voyager", a name that was retained for the post-war Stinson 108. Six Model 10s were evaluated by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) as the YO-54. The unsuccessful tests led Stinson to design an all-new aircraft designated Model 76, later known as the L-5 ...
