''l8r, g8r'' is the third novel in a young adult series by Lauren Myracle written entirely as instant messages; the first two are '' ttyl'' and ''ttfn''. ''l8r, g8r'' is a coming of age novel published on March 1, 2007 by Harry N. Abrams. ''l8r g8r'' was the No. 1 banned book in 2009 due to the prevalent sexual content, use of profanity and the use of shorthand language. The fact that the book depicts sexual content among adults also contributed to its banning. Lauren Myracle
Lauren Myracle (born May 15, 1969) is an American writer of young adult fiction. She has written many novels, including the three best-selling "IM" books, ''ttyl'', ''ttfn'' and ''l8r, g8r''. Her book ''Thirteen Plus One'' was released May 4, 2010. Early life Myracle was born in Brevard, North Carolina, and is the oldest of three sisters and has three older brothers. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended Trinity School and The Westminster Schools. Myracle earned a BA in English and Psychology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation, Myracle worked for some time as a middle-school teacher in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and participated in the JET Programme in Japan. Myracle later earned an MA in English from Colorado State University, where she taught for two years and an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College. Abrams, Inc. in 2005, it is the sequel to ''ttyl'', and is also written entirely in the style of instant messaging conversation. It is followed by ''l8r, g8r''. The book reached number 4 on the New York Times Best Seller list for children's chapter books in March 2006. This novel follows Maddie ("MadMaddie"), Zoe ("ZoeGirl"), and Angela ("SnowAngel") through the ups and downs of their junior year. Plot Best friends Angela, Maddie, and Zoe are now juniors.
