L. Chris Ross
L. Chris Ross (born November 3, 1951) is an ex-six-term representative of the 158th Legislative District of Pennsylvania, United States. He was Republican Chairman of the House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee and was also a member of the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee. Career Ross' career in public service began shortly after his graduation from college. He worked on the successful campaigns of US Senator John Heinz in 1976 and former Pennsylvania Governor Dick Thornburgh in 1978. He served seven years as Chairman of the London Grove Township’s Board of Supervisors. Ross was also a former board member of the Upland School, where he chaired the school’s Education Committee and was chairman of the board of directors of the Fairville Early Learning Center (now known as Fairville Friends School). Brandywine Conservancy
The Brandywine Wildflower and Native Plant Gardens are gardens at the Brandywine River Museum, located on U.S. Route 1 beside the Brandywine Creek in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The gardens were established in 1974 to a design by F. M. Mooberry. In 1979 Lady Bird Johnson dedicated the gardens to Ford B. Draper and Henry A. Thouron for their contributions to the Brandywine Conservancy. The gardens include wildflowers, trees, and shrubs set within landscaped woodlands, wetland, flood plain, and meadow. Joe Pitts (Pennsylvania Politician)
Joseph Russell Pitts (born October 10, 1939) is a former American politician who served as the U.S. representative for from 1997 to 2017. He is a member of the Republican Party. The district was based in Lancaster and Reading and included much of the Amish country. It also included the far southwestern suburbs of Philadelphia in Chester County. In December 2015, Congressman Pitts announced he would not run for reelection in 2016. Early life and education Pitts was born in Lexington, Kentucky and graduated from Asbury College. Dick Thornburgh
Richard Lewis Thornburgh (July 16, 1932 – December 31, 2020) was an American lawyer, author, and Republican politician who served as the 41st governor of Pennsylvania from 1979 to 1987, and then as the United States attorney general from 1988 to 1991. Before his time as attorney general and governor, he served as the United States attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Early life and education Thornburgh was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on July 16, 1932, the son of Alice (Sanborn) and Charles Garland Thornburgh, an engineer.
