L.A. Mix
L.A. Mix were a British group composed of Disco Mix Club, DMC mixer and club DJ Les Adams (29 November 1955 – 2 September 2019), his production partner and wife Emma Freilich and multi-instrumentalist Mike Stevens (saxophonist), Mike Stevens. All of the group's seven Single (music), singles charted on the UK Singles Chart. Biography L.A. Mix consisted of then husband-and-wife team Les Adams and Emma Freilich, and Mike Stevens. Their first hit was in 1987, "Don't Stop (Jammin')", which was based on a simple 8-track demo that Adams had formed in his home studio, and made No. 47 on the UK Singles Chart. That record got L.A. Mix in trouble, as the bassline had been taken from the song "Love Is the Message", resulting in Vincent Montana Jr. attempting to take an injunction out on the group. Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. Musical career Todd Terry was influential in moving House music beyond the early Chicago house sound of 1984–86. MCA Records was an American record label owned by MCA Inc., which later became part of Universal Music Group. Pre-history MCA Inc., a powerful talent agency and a television production company, entered the recorded music business in 1962 with the purchase of the New York-based US Decca Records (established in 1934), including Coral Records and Brunswick Records. MCA was forced to exit the talent agency business in order to complete the merger. Krush were a UK dance music group, who had a crossover hit single with "House Arrest" in 1987. Career The group consisted of musicians Mark Gamble, Cassius Campbell and record producers Mark Brydon and Robert Gordon. Ruth Joy was the featured vocalist. "House Arrest", a sample-based dance track, was a No. 3 hit on the UK Singles Chart in December 1987 into January 1988. Alongside similar releases by artists such as Bomb the Bass and S'Express, "House Arrest" is considered a pioneering example of British house music. "Jump to the Beat" is a song written by Narada Michael Walden and Lisa Walden. It was originally released by American singer Stacy Lattisaw in 1980 when it became a big hit in the UK, peaking at No.3. It was later covered by Australian singer Dannii Minogue on her debut album, '' Love and Kisses'' in 1991. Release Stacy Lattisaw was only 13 years old when "Jump to the Beat" was released in May 1980. Although it was not released as a North American single, therefore did not chart on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, it reached No.1 (along with another song " Dynamite!") on the ''Billboard'' dance charts.
