The Sylvie And Babs Hi-Fi Companion
''The Sylvie and Babs Hi-Fi Companion'' is an album by Nurse With Wound. In his book "England's Hidden Reverse", David Keenan describes the album as "some light relief in the early Nurse catalogue". Steven Stapleton told Keenan "I wanted to make a record that was stolen from other people's records". Gary Levermore of Third Mind Records recalled to Keenan that Stapleton was "desperate to get his hands on a copy of Roger Miller's " King of the Road" in order to incorporate it into the forthcoming record". Although largely collaged from easy-listening records Stapleton acquired in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the album boasted a large cast list of over 40 people. ''Nightmare Culture'' is a 12" split vinyl EP by Current 93 and Sickness of Snakes, which was John Balance and Peter Christopherson from Coil and Boyd Rice. Background The first pressing was limited to 5000 copies with a seal on the cover. The second pressing came out in 1988. It came without an insert and with different center labels. For this release Current 93 were: David Tibet, Ruby Wallis, Steven Stapleton, John Balance, Steve Ignorant and John Murphy. The Current 93 song was later pressed on the CD reissue of "In Menstrual Night". The Sickness of Snakes songs were later released on the Coil compilation '' Unnatural History''. "His Body Was a Playground for the Nazi Elite" (issued later on CD) then appeared on the NON album '' Easy Listening for Iron Youth'' as "Predator/Prey". Peter Christopherson
Peter Martin Christopherson (also known as Sleazy, 27 February 1955 – 25 November 2010) was an English musician, video director, commercial artist, designer and photographer, and former member of British design agency Hipgnosis. He also founded the Industrial Records band Throbbing Gristle (TG). After the disbandment of Throbbing Gristle, he participated in the formation of Psychic TV along with Genesis P-Orridge and Geoff Rushton—Rushton later changed his name to John Balance. After his short time in Psychic TV, Christopherson formed Coil with Balance, which lasted for just under 23 years, until Balance died of a fall in the Weston-super-Mare home he shared with Christopherson. Christopherson participated in the reunification of Throbbing Gristle and, after his relocation to Thailand in 2005, composed an album for his solo endeavour The Threshold HouseBoys Choir. Geoffrey Nigel Laurence Rushton (16 February 1962 – 13 November 2004), better known under the pseudonyms John Balance or the later variation Jhonn Balance, was an English musician, occultist, artist and poet. He was best known as a co-founder of the experimental music group Coil, in collaboration with his partner Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson.. Coil was active from 1982 to Balance's death in 2004. David Jackman is a British musician and visual artist with an extensive catalogue of drone works, mostly as the principal — and often sole — member of Organum. Jackman's earliest known musical activity was as a member of Cornelius Cardew's Scratch Orchestra between 1969 and 1972.
