Kōsaku Yamashita
was a Japanese film director who specialized in directing Yakuza films. Yamashita was nicknamed ''Shōgun''. His son is director Tomohiko Yamashita. In 1952, He graduated from Kyoto University and joined Toei Film. He was working an office job, but three years later, he became an assistant director under Tomu Uchida and Kōzaburō Yoshimura. Yamashita made his directorial debut with ''Wakatono Senryu Hada'' in 1961. His representative works included '' The Valiant Red Peony series'' and ''Kyōdai Jingi'' (1966). Kagoshima Prefecture
is a prefecture of Japan located on the island of Kyushu and the Ryukyu Islands. Oshizamurai Kiichihōgan
also known as The Mute Samurai is a Japanese television ''jidaigeki'' or period drama, that was broadcast in 1973–1974. The lead star is Tomisaburo Wakayama, his younger brother Shintaro Katsu also appeared and directed episode 1. It is based on Kanda Takeshi's manga ''Oshizamurai Kiichihōgan''. Plot Kiichihōgan is a samurai who had been a victim of a vicious crime, completely changing his life forever. His parents were killed and his virgin wife was violated by a skilled Spaniard named Gonzalez. 18 years later Kiichihōgan abandons the way of the samurai and he becomes a bounty hunter, taking Japans most wanted criminals. Abare Hasshū Goyō Tabi
was a network prime-time television ''jidaigeki'' series in Japan from 1991 to 1994. It starred Teruhiko Saigō. The series began in 1991 in the 9:00 p.m. time slot on the TV Tokyo network. Saigō created the role of Tōdō Heihachirō. The character was a , a law-enforcement official of the Tokugawa shogunate, with broad jurisdiction over the Kantō region surrounding the shogunal capital at Edo. A common alternative name for the post was ''Hasshū-mawari'', alluding to the eight provinces (''hasshū'') of the region; the title incorporates this name. is a series of jidaigeki novels written by Renzaburō Shibata. The stories were originally serialized beginning in May 1956 in the ''Shūkan Shinchō''. (''Choshichiro's Edo Diaries'') was a long-running prime-time television series in Japan. The title character was Matsudaira Choshichiro Nagayori, the son of Tokugawa Tadanaga. The premise of the show focuses on Tadanaga's death as a result of an alleged plot to overthrow his elder brother, the third shōgun Tokugawa Iemitsu. Choshichiro lives among the commoners in the shogunal capital city of Edo. Kōtarō Satomi portrayed Choshichiro throughout the series. is a Japanese television ''jidaigeki'' or period drama, that was broadcast from 1979 to 1981. It is the 15th in the ''Hissatsu'' series. The drama was set to end after episode 26 with Nakamura Mondo's death, but won great popularity so the broadcast period was extended. Plot Nakamura Mondo was relegated to a post in Hachioji from the Minamimachi Bugyōsho and he has retired from professional assassin. But one day he was ordered to return to the Minamimachi Bugyōsho. Shikazō worked behind the scenes to get Mondo back to the Minamimachi Bugyōsho. Kōzaburō Yoshimura
was a Japanese film director. Biography Born in Shiga Prefecture, he joined the Shōchiku studio in 1929. He debuted as director in 1934, but continued working as an assistant director for such filmmakers as Yasujirō Ozu and Yasujirō Shimazu after that. It was the 1939 film ''Warm Current'' that established his status as a director. During the Sino-Japanese war he directed a number of military dramas such as '' The Legend of Tank Commander Nishizumi'' (1940), for which he toured the actual battlefields in China. His 1947 work '' The Ball at the Anjo House'', starring Setsuko Hara, was named the best picture of the year by ''Kinema Junpo''. This film marked the start of a long relationship with the screenwriter and film director Kaneto Shindō. In 1950, the two of them started the independent production company Kindai Eiga Kyokai.
