Andriy Kis (born 27 May 1982 in Lviv) is a Ukrainian luger who has competed since 2003. Competing in two Winter Olympics, he earned his best finish of 14th in the men's doubles event at Turin in 2006. Kis's best finish at the FIL World Luge Championships in the men's double event was 14th twice (2008, 2009). Danilo Kiš (; born Dániel Kiss; 22 February 1935 – 15 October 1989) was a Yugoslav novelist, short story writer, essayist and translator. His best known works include ''Hourglass'', ''A Tomb for Boris Davidovich'' and '' The Encyclopedia of the Dead''. Life and work Early life Kiš was born in Subotica, Danube Banovina, Kingdom of Yugoslavia (now Serbia). Kiš was the son of Eduard Kiš ( hu, Kis Ede), a Hungarian-speaking Jewish railway inspector and Milica (née Dragićević), a Serbian Orthodox Christian from Cetinje. His father was born in Austria-Hungary with the surname Kohn, but changed it to Kiš as part of Magyarization, a widely implemented practice at the time. Kiš's parents met in 1930 in Subotica and married the following year. Milica gave birth to a daughter, Danica, in Zagreb in 1932 before the family relocated to Subotica. Gergő Kis
GergÅ‘ Szabolcs Kis (born 19 January 1988, in Tapolca) is a Hungarian freestyle swimmer. Kis participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics in the men's 1500 m freestyle, ranking 23rd in the heats. In the 2006 European Junior Swimming Championships he won the gold medal in the 400 metres individual medley setting a championship record of 4:16.82, won the silver medal in the 200 meter butterfly, and finished 4th in the 1500 metre freestyle. In the 2007 European Short Course Swimming Championships he finished third in the 400 metre freestyle and won silver in the 1500 metre freestyle. Ivana Kiš
Ivana Kiš (born 2 March 1979 in Zagreb) is a Croatian composer of classical music, electronic music and music theatre. Kiš finished her bachelor composition studies with (2002), and her master studies in the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Louis Andriessen, Gilius van Bergeijk and Diderik Wagenaar (2006). Kiš' compositions have been performed by many ensembles such as Asko Ensemble, Maarten Altena Ensemble, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Netherlands Wind Ensemble and The Croatian Television Symphonic Orchestra. With Tomislav Oliver, Kiš composed the music for ''Kraljevi bogova'', a ballet choreographed by Pascal Touzeau, performed for the first time in Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb in 2015, as a part of the 28th Music Biennale Zagreb. János Kis
János Kis (born 17 September 1943) is a Hungarian philosopher and political scientist, who served as the inaugural leader of the liberal Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ) from 1990 to 1991. He is considered to be the first Leader Hungarian parliamentary opposition. Biography Kis was born in Budapest, Hungary. His father was killed in the Holocaust. He graduated with a degree in philosophy from the Eötvös Loránd University in 1967. Kis was inspired by the ideas of György Lukács and György Márkus, and became marxist in the 1960s. He joined the Hungarian Communist Party (MSZMP) too. In 1973 he was dismissed as a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences after co-authoring a book criticizing Marxist socialism from leftist point of view.
