Külliki Saldre
Külliki Saldre (until 1986, Külliki Tool; born 29 December 1952) is an Estonian stage, television, radio and film actress. Early life and education Külliki Saldre was born in the small town of Kehtna, in Rapla County in 1952, where she graduated from secondary school. Her older sister is performance artist Krista Tool and her younger brother is philosopher and translator Andrus Tool. Following graduation, she studied photography before beginning studies at the Tallinn State Conservatory, Performing Arts Department (now, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre), graduating in 1976. Kehtna
Kehtna (german: Kechtel) is a small borough ( et, alevik) in Rapla County, in central Estonia, located about southeast of the town of Rapla. Other nearby settlements include Keava, Kaerepere and Lelle. Kehtna is the administrative centre of Kehtna Parish. It has a population of 1,674 (as of 1 January 2012). Kehtna Manor was first mentioned in 1470 as ''Kectel'' and in 1485 as ''Hof Kechtenal''. The Early-Classicist main building was built in the 1790s. After a fire in 1905, it was rebuilt in 1906–10 and gained its current Baroque look. The manor is surrounded by a large park with a varied collection of shrubs. Viljandi
Viljandi (, german: Fellin, sv, Fellin) is a town and municipality in southern Estonia with a population of 17,407 in 2019. It is the capital of Viljandi County and is geographically located between two major Estonian cities, Pärnu and Tartu. The town was first mentioned in 1283, upon being granted its town charter by Wilhelm von Endorpe. The town became a member of the Hanseatic League at the beginning of the 14th century, and is one of five Estonian towns and cities in the league. Mats Traat
Mats Traat (23 November 1936 – 27 June 2022) was an Estonian poet, poetry translator, and author. Career Traat was born in Arula, Otepää Parish. He debuted in 1962 with a collection of poetry. He published over 20 anthologies of poetry. His poetry frequently dealt with social commentary and society's adoration for science. His lyrics praised nature and his native country. He also translated poetry from Slavic languages (Polish, Macedonian, Czech). Traat wrote about the indigenous Estonian population. His central topics were the changes and the developments of Estonian rural life in the course of centuries, with an emphasis on people's ethical choices. Juhan Viiding (1 June 1948 – 21 February 1995), also known under the pseudonym of Jüri Üdi was an Estonian poet and actor. Personal life Juhan Viiding was born on 1 June 1948 in Tallinn to Paul Viiding, a well-known poet in Estonia who had belonged to the influential '' Arbujad'' (''Soothsayers'') – a collective group of eight young influential poets who rose to prominence before the outbreak of World War II – and Linda Viiding (''née'' Laarmann), a noted translator. An absurdist fiction, absurdist metatheatrical, metatheatric play about the relationship among authors, their characters, and theatre practitioners, it premiered at the Teatro Valle in Rome to a mixed reception, with shouts from the audience of "''Manicomio''!" ("Madhouse!") and "''Incommensurabile''!" ("Off the scale!"), a reaction to the play's illogical progression.
