Sönmez Köksal (born 8 March 1940) is a career Turkish civil servant. He served in a variety of positions largely in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in international organisations representing Turkey, and was Turkey's Ambassador to Iraq (1986–1990). He was head of the National Intelligence Organization ( tr, Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı, MİT) from 1992 to 1998, and subsequently Turkey's Ambassador to France (1998–2002). Pınar Köksal
Ayşe Pınar Köksal (20 April 1946 – 19 August 2019) was a Turkish composer of Turkish classical music. She lived in Ankara at the time of her death. Life Köksal was born in Adana, and because her father was a civil servant her childhood was spent in different parts of Anatolia. She graduated from Kayseri High School and later studied pharmacy, receiving her diploma from the Private Higher School of Pharmacy in Istanbul. She worked for 13 years as a pharmacist, and she was deputy chair of the board at Pet Holding as well as chair of the board for the Köksal Education Foundation. She was also a member of the Democratic Party Governing Board, and chair of the party's Art Committee. From 2001 to 2007 she was a member of the Ministry of Justice Penal Institutions and Detention Houses Monitoring Board, a post from which she resigned in April 2007 for reasons of health. Nil Köksal is a Turkey, Turkish-born Canadians, Canadian television and radio journalist, most recently the weekday anchor of ''World Report (CBC), World Report'' on CBC Radio One. In July 2022, she was announced as the new host of ''As It Happens'' beginning in September. Mehmet Köksal (born August 9, 1963) is a Turkish lawyer and founding partner of the Istanbul and Munich based law firm Köksal Attorney Partnership. Köksal Toptan (born 1943, in Rize) is a Turkish lawyer, politician and a member of the Justice and Development Party. He earlier served as government minister in three cabinets. He was the speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey between August 2007 and August 2009. He was educated in the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University. Füsun Köksal
Füsun Köksal (born 1973) is a Turkish composer of contemporary classical music. Köksal was born and grew up in Bursa, Turkey and attended Bilkent University's Faculty of Music and Performing Arts in Ankara from 1989 to 1996, where she earned her bachelor's degree in music theory and composition, studying under the supervision of Bujor Hoinic. From 1996 to 2002 she lived in Cologne, Germany, where she studied composition with Krzysztof Meyer and theory with Johannes Schild, earning a Diplom Musikerin from the Hochschule für Musik Köln. In 2002 she returned to Bilkent University, where she taught composition for three years. In 2004, she matriculated into the doctoral program at the University of Chicago, where she has studied with Marta Ptaszynska and Shulamit Ran.
