is a junction passenger railway station located in the city of Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). Lines Kusatsu Station is served by the Biwako Line portion of the Tōkaidō Main Line, and is 45.5 kilometers from and 491.4 kilometers from . An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons.
