Kuruc.info is a far-right Hungarian language online portal registered in California, United States, affiliated with politician Előd Novák. The website often harbours extreme anti-semitic sentiments, including frequent Holocaust denial, and frequently publishes anti-Romani and homophobic content. History The first iteration of the website, kettosallampolgarsag.hu, was created to support the 2004 Hungarian dual citizenship referendum. The website then illegally published personal information about publicist Imre Para-Kovács. As the website's focus broadened, and its traffic kept growing even after the referendum had ended, its editors decided to start Kuruc.info on 01 February 2006, named after the "Kuruc", the rebels against the Habsburg monarchy who fought for Hungarian independence between 1671 and 1711.Molnár, V. Hungarian Justice And Life Party
The Hungarian Justice and Life Party ( hu, Magyar Igazság és Élet Pártja, MIÉP) was a nationalist political party in Hungary that was founded by István Csurka in 1993. In the 1998 legislative elections, the party won 5.5% of the votes and gained parliamentary representation, with 14 seats. In the 2002 elections, the party won 4.4% of the popular vote and no seats. In 2005, MIÉP joined forces with a newer, radical Hungarian nationalist political party, Jobbik. The new political formation was registered under the name the MIÉP–Jobbik Third Way Alliance of Parties. It purported to speak for Christians whilst standing up for the rights of Hungarian minorities in the neighbouring countries. Kuruc
Kuruc (, plural ''kurucok''), also spelled kurutz, refers to a group of armed anti-Habsburg insurgents in the Kingdom of Hungary between 1671 and 1711. Over time, the term kuruc has come to designate Hungarians who advocate strict national independence and the term labanc to designate Hungarians who advocate cooperating with outside powers. The term kuruc is used in both a positive sense to mean “patriotic” and in a negative sense to mean “chauvinistic.” The term labanc is almost always used in a negative sense to mean “disloyal” or “traitorous.” The kuruc army was composed mostly of impoverished lower Hungarian nobility and serfs, including Hungarian Protestant peasants and Slavs. They managed to conquer large parts of Hungary in several uprisings from Transylvania before they were defeated by Habsburg imperial troops.
