Kurt Stettler
Kurt Stettler (21 August 1932 – 8 December 2020) was a Swiss football goalkeeper who played for Switzerland in the 1962 FIFA World Cup. Football career Stettler played his youth football by Young Boys. During his apprenticeship as Baker and Confectioner he played for the youth teams of FC Ostermundigen. Stettlen
Stettlen is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. History Stettlen is first mentioned in 1146 as ''Stetelon''. Archeological excavations have found evidence of several prehistoric settlements in the Stettlen area. The earliest is several La Tène era graves which contain skeletons and some items of jewelry from near the modern Bleichestrasse. Traces of a Roman era settlement were found at Deisswil. During the High Middle Ages there was a small castle at Schwandiholz, of which no records remain. Stettlen was the smallest of the four parishes on the city of Bern. After 1300, it was considered part of the extended city and until 1798 residents of Stettlen were considered citizens of Bern. The village church of St. Blaise was first built in the 9th century. Landhof
The Landhof was a sports stadium in the district Basel-Wettstein in Kleinbasel, Basel. It was the former and first home stadium of FC Basel. It is mentioned for the first time in a chronicle in the second half of the 18th century as a ''nice summer house with beautiful property''. The best known owner of the manor was , a member of the Merian family. He was Mayor of Basel and Landammann of Switzerland (highest office at the time). In 1892 the granddaughter of Merian-Iselin sold the Landhof to a certain Katharina Ehrler-Wittich. As the Football Club Basel 1893 was founded in 1893 and look for a ground to play, she made the Landhof available free of charge as a playing surface. Otto Ludwig (29 November 193417 August 2014) was a German footballer who played for FC Basel during the late 1950s and early 60s. He played in the position of striker. Football career Ludwig came to FC Basel as a youth player in 1955. He played his Swiss Cup debut on 18 December 1955 in the 6–2 win against Emmenbrücke. He played his Nationalliga A debut on 31 August 1958 in the away game against La Chaux-de-Fonds that Basel lost 2–1. He scored his first goal for his club on 14 September 1958 against Lausanne-Sport as Basel won 5–0. It was the last goal of the game. For the season 1960/61 Ludwig played for Old Boys in the 1. Heinz Blumer (* 7 January 1942) is a retired Swiss footballer who played in the 1960s and 70s. He played mainly in the position as defender, but also as midfielder. Football career Basel Blumer played in the youth teams of FC Basel and advanced to their first team in 1961. Between the years 1961 and 1965 he played a total of 135 games for Basel scoring a total of 56 goals. 72 of these games were in the Nationalliga A, 15 games were in the Swiss Cup, 14 were international games (Cup of the Alps, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, Inter-Cities Fairs Cup) and 34 were friendly games. The Wankdorf Stadium (german: Wankdorfstadion, ) was a football stadium in the Wankdorf quarter of Bern, Switzerland, and the former home of Swiss club BSC Young Boys.
