Kurt Damrow
Kurt E. Damrow (born February 16, 1962) is a former member of the Michigan House of Representatives. Early life and education Damrow was born on February 16, 1962, in Bad Axe, Michigan. Damrow graduated from the Nashville Auctioneering Institute and Spec's Howard School of Broadcast Arts. Military career On January 16, 1985, Damrow made a delayed enlistment into the Air Force Reserve Command in Detroit. Damrow entered the United States Air Force on March 29, 1985, and served until September 26, 1986, when he was honorably released to Air National Guard status. On October 6, 1986, Damrow enlisted into the California Air National Guard, where he was honorably discharged from on September 2, 1987. The next day, on September 3, Damrow enlisted into the Michigan Air National Guard. On March 3, 1991, Damrow was transferred to the Inactive United States Air Force Reserves. The 2012 Michigan House of Representatives elections were held on November 6, 2012, with partisan primaries to select the parties' nominees in the various districts on August 7, 2012. Due to gerrymandering, the Republican Party retained its majority in the House of Representatives despite losing the popular vote. Rep. Roy Schmidt scandal State Representative Roy Schmidt was defeated for re-election after assisting in engineering an election-rigging scandal by which he switched from the Democratic to the Republican Party and recruited a straw candidate to run as a Democrat in order to ensure a swift re-election. The scandal ultimately cost him his seat in the House. Vassar, Michigan
Vassar is a city in Tuscola County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Founded March 1, 1849. The population was 2,727 at the 2020 census and 2,697 in 2010 (an increase of about 1.1%). The city is located on the western edge of Vassar Township but is administratively autonomous. History Vassar was founded by four men who were led by James M. Edmunds and Townsend North in search of an area to build a dam and start a city. The city was named after Edmund's uncle, Matthew Vassar, who later founded Vassar College. It was the first county seat of Tuscola County. In 1860, the seat was moved to Caro. Vassar's growth for the next thirty years was based mainly on its lumbering and a handful of related industries. Coldwater is a city in Branch County, Michigan, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 10,945. It is the county seat of Branch County, located in the center of the southern border of Michigan. The city is surrounded by Coldwater Township, but is administratively autonomous. The Attorney General of the State of Michigan is the fourth-ranking official in the U.S. state of Michigan. The officeholder is elected statewide in the November general election alongside the governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, members of the Senate and members of the House of Representatives.
