Kurram Tangi Dam
The Kurram Tangi Dam ( ps, د کرم تنګي ډېم) is a multipurpose dam under construction on the Kaitu River in North Waziristan, Pakistan, with a 83.4 MW power generation capacity. Location The Kurram Tangi Dam is located across Kaitu River (which more downstream becomes the Kurram River), about 14 km upstream of Kurram Garhi Headworks and 32 km north of Bannu City in the Federally Administrated Tribal Area (FATA). Irrigation system The project will be constructed in two phases. Stage-I consists in a 18 ft-tall weir on Kaitu River. It will be completed within 3 years, and allow the irrigation of 16,000 acres of land in North Waziristan Agency, while about 18MW of electricity will be generated. The complete system will irrigate a command area of 84,380 acres and have hydro-power generation capacity of 83.4 MW. Kurram River
The Kurrama River ( ps, د کورمې سيند), or Kurram River, originates from watershed of Spin Ghar in the Paktia Province of Afghanistan and the Kurram District of Pakistan, flows through North Waziristan District, North Waziristan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, passing through the city of Bannu, and then joins the Indus River near Isa Khel. It drains the southern flanks of the Spin Ghar mountain range and is a right bank tributary of the Indus River. Kurrama river passes through tribal Area of Pakistan, and irrigates around of land. Bannu
Bannu ( ps, بنو, translit=banū ; ur, , translit=bannū̃, ) is a city located on the Kurram River in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is the capital of Bannu Division. Bannu's residents are primarily members of the Banuchi tribe and speak Banuchi (Baniswola) dialect of Pashto which is similar to the distinct Waziristani dialect. Total 5 Tehsil in Bannu.
