Kurdish American Caucus
Established on May 23, 2008 by US Congressmen Lincoln Davis (D-Tennessee) and Joe Wilson (R-South Carolina), the Kurdish American Congressional Caucus is a bipartisan Congressional committee focusing on US-Kurdish relations, understanding Kurdish culture, and addressing overarching issues important to Kurdish-Americans in the U.S. and elsewhere. The KACC pays special recognition to Kurds in the U.S. and the diaspora, their contributions to the United States and in Iraq, highlighting the necessity to promote their rights as an ethnic minority. At the launch of the Kurdish American Caucus, Rep. Davis stated that he “… hopes that this ACCwill stand as a symbol of continued friendship and cooperation between the United States and Iraq’s Kurdish people in our effort to bring peace and stability to a federated Iraq.” In February 2012, Rep. Lincoln Davis
Lincoln Edward Davis (born September 13, 1943) is an American politician and the former U.S. Representative for . He is a member of the Democratic Party. He is a member of the ReFormers Caucus of Issue One. Early life, education and career Davis has spent most of his life in Fentress County, a mostly rural county in the state's coal-mining region. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 1966 with a degree in agriculture. Davis, who now lives in the rural Fentress County village of Pall Mall, also owns a construction business, Diversified Construction Co., which builds homes, apartments, and offices. A member of the Democratic Party, he chaired the New Democrat Coalition in the 115th Congress (2017–2019). Caucuses Of The United States Congress
A congressional caucus is a group of members of the United States Congress that meets to pursue common legislative objectives. Formally, caucuses are formed as Congressional Member Organizations (CMOs) through the United States House of Representatives and governed under the rules of that chamber. Caucuses are informal in the Senate, and unlike their House counterparts, Senate groups receive neither official recognition nor funding from the chamber. Frederica Smith Wilson (born Frederica Patricia Smith, November 5, 1942) is an American politician who has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 2011, representing . Located in South Florida, Wilson's congressional district, numbered as the 17th during her first term, covers a large swath of eastern Miami-Dade County and a sliver of southern Broward County. Scott Randall Tipton (born November 9, 1956) is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for from 2011 to 2021. A Republican, he was previously a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from 2009 to 2011.
