Kumo, Nigeria
. Kumo is a city and the headquarters of Akko local government in Gombe state, northeastern Nigeria. Kumo is the second largest commercial center in Gombe state, It is located on the A345 highway approximately 40 km south of Gombe. It serves as a collecting point for vegetables, peanuts (groundnuts), cotton, and corn (maize) and as a local trade centre for the sorghum, millet, cowpeas, cassava (manioc), goats, cattle, sheep, fowl, and cotton raised by the Fulani, Tangale, and Hausa peoples of the surrounding area.The secondary highway between Gombe and Yola serves the town. Sheep

Saidu Kumo
Saidu Umar Kumo (5 November 1959 – 27 December 2020) was a Nigerian politician who was elected Senator of the Gombe Central Constituency, Gombe State, Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, contested under the platform of the All Peoples party (APP) which later became the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP). He took office on 29 May 1999. After taking his seat in the Senate in June 1999, Kumo was appointed to committees on Aviation, Communication, Power & Steel, Finance & Appropriation, Tourism & Culture and Social Development & Sports. He became Deputy Chairman of the Senate Services Committee. Aliyu Modibbo Umar (born 15 November 1958) is a Nigerian technocrat who was the federal Minister of State for Power and Steel from December 2002 to May 2003, Minister of Commerce from July 2006 to July 2007, then Minister for the FCT (Federal Capital Territory, Abuja), a post he held until October 2008. Background Aliyu Modibbo Umar was born of Kumo origin in Gombe State on 15 November 1958. He obtained a BA in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach; an MA in African Studies and a PhD in Comparative Education both from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Usman Bello Kumo is a Member of House of Representatives representing Akko federal constituency of Gombe State. He holds a degree in Law obtained from Bayero University, Kano.
