Kruitmolen
The Kruitmolen (English: ''Powder mill'', Limburgish: ''Polfermeule'') is a watermill located on the Plenkertstraat 82 in Valkenburg aan de Geul, Netherlands. Build in 1820 along the Geul river, the watermill functioned as powder mill until 1851 and temporarily became a paper mill between 1875 and 1884. Since 1887 it is part of a brewery where it currently still forms a part of the electrical supply system. Top 100 Dutch Heritage Sites
The Top 100 Dutch heritage sites is a list of rijksmonuments in the Netherlands, established in 1990 by the Department for Conservation ( Monumentenzorg, today the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed). The Top 100 was a selection of historical monuments that were authorized to display the symbol of the Hague Convention of 1954 (the famous blue and white shield, known as the UNESCO shield). The list should not be confused with the UNESCO World Heritage list. The buildings on the list could expect extra security in the context of the policy. The Top 100 list is no longer official, as the extra cultural protection policy is no longer applied. Rijksmonument
A rijksmonument (, ) is a national heritage site of the Netherlands, listed by the agency Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed (RCE) acting for the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. At the end of February 2015, the Netherlands had 61,822 listed national heritage sites, of which approximately 1,500 are listed as archaeological sites. History and criteria Until 2012, a place had to be over 50 years old to be eligible for designation. This criterion expired on 1 January 2012. The current legislation governing the monuments is the ''Monumentenwet van 1988'' ("Monument Law of 1988").
