Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport
Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport ( af, Kruger Mpumalanga Internasionale Lughawe) is located north east of Mbombela in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Construction began in 2001 and it replaced the smaller Nelspruit Airport. It now serves travelers to Kruger National Park. Mbombela
Mbombela (also known as Nelspruit) is a city in northeastern South Africa. It is the capital of the Mpumalanga province. Located on the Crocodile River, Mbombela lies about by road west of the Mozambique border, east of Johannesburg and north of the Eswatini border. Mbombela was one of the host cities of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. History San rock art and Iron Age archaeological evidence indicate the Mbombela area has a long history of human habitation. Construction for the Mpumalanga legislature revealed farming settlements, storage pits, burial sites, and pottery ranging from the 6th to 17th century. The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is located at the border line between Hoedspruit (in Limpopo) and Acornhoek (in Mpumalanga), north of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve on the western edge of Kruger National Park. Geographically and politically, Timbavati is located in Mpumalanga Province. In Xitsonga, the name 'Timbavati' means "the place where something sacred came down to Earth from the Heavens", and refers to the rare white lions of Timbavati. Skukuza Airport
Skukuza Airport is the only commercial airport in Kruger National Park, located near Skukuza, in the Mpumalanga province in South Africa. The airport was established in 1958 and was named in honour of James Stevenson-Hamilton, the first warden of the Kruger national park. In 2018, the airport was dubbed "the prettiest airport in the world" by ''Forbes''.
