Kron Gracie
Kron Gracie (born July 11, 1988) is a Brazilian-American mixed martial artist, grappler and black belt Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and instructor. A member of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gracie family, he is the son of Rickson Gracie and a grandson of Hélio Gracie. A two-time IBJJF World and four-time Pan-American champion in coloured belts, he received his black belt at the age of 19. Gracie held in 2008 a world record of 51 consecutive matches won by submission at high level tournaments. Gracie became IBJJF European champion, World and Pan American championships medalist and in 2013 ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship Champion. In 2014 Gracie announced that he was transitioning to mixed martial arts (MMA). Competing under the Japanese Rizin Fighting Federation before signing up with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Gracie holds a 5-1 record for a total of six professional fights, with all of his wins coming by way of submission. The World IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship (commonly known as the Worlds or Mundials) is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held once every year by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. It is widely considered to be the most important and prestigious jiu-jitsu tournament of the year. The first edition took place in February 1996 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since 2007 the tournament has been held in California, USA. The last edition of the championships took place at the California State University, Long Beach in June 2022. ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship
The ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship, is an international submission grappling competition, organised by the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC). The inaugural tournament was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1998. It has been held every two years since, except in 2021 due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Host countries have included Brazil, China, Finland, Spain, the UK, and the US. Competitors can only participate after winning ADCC trials or by invitation. While most athletes come from the IBJJF Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitive scene, it is open to competitors from any grappling style. The European Championship or European Open (officially called the European IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship) is the most prestigious and largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held in Europe by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF). The tournament is an open championship accepting competitors from all countries. The IBJJF gives tournaments weighting which helps calculate the number of points an athlete can win via their participation. For the 2017/2018 IBJJF calendar the European Championship has a weighting of 4 alongside the Pan-American Championship (jiu-jitsu) making it second in importance only to the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship which has a weighting of 7. The Gracie Family () are a prominent martial arts family originally from Belém, state of Pará, Brazil whose ancestors came from Paisley, Scotland. They are known for creating the self-defense martial arts system of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, also known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ; pt, jiu-jitsu brasileiro ) is a self-defence martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting (ne-waza) and submission holds.
