Kristina Pickering
Mary Kristina Pickering (born October 7, 1952 in San Francisco, California) is a justice of the Nevada Supreme Court. She became the fifth woman to serve on the Court when she was sworn in on January 5, 2009. Supreme Court Of Nevada
The Supreme Court of Nevada is the highest state court of the U.S. state of Nevada, and the head of the Nevada Judiciary. The main constitutional function of the Supreme Court is to review appeals made directly from the decisions of the district courts. The Supreme Court does not pursue fact-finding by conducting trials, but rather determines whether legal errors were committed in the rendering of the lower court's decision. While the Court must consider all cases filed, it has the discretion to send appeals to the Nevada Court of Appeals for final resolution, as well as the power to determine the jurisdiction of that court. There are seven Justices on the court, who are elected to six-year terms in officially nonpartisan elections and who are not subject to term limits, which were rejected by voters in 1996. Mark Gibbons
Mark Gibbons (born December 12, 1950) is a former justice of the Supreme Court of Nevada. He was elected to the Nevada Supreme Court in 2002. Gibbons attended the University of California at Irvine and earned his bachelor's degree in 1972. He attended law school at Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles and graduated in 1975. He served as chief justice of the Supreme Court of Nevada in 2008, 2014 and 2019.
