''Kranthiyogi Basavanna'' is a 1983 Indian Kannada-language film, directed by K. S. L. Swamy (Ravee). The film stars Ashok, Aarathi, Srinivasa Murthy, Manjula, Hema Chowdhary. The film has musical score by M. Ranga Rao. This movie is about life of one of the greatest social reformer of India Vishwa Guru Basavanna. He is the founder of Lingayat religion. Ashok (born 12 September 1951) is an Indian actor in the Kannada film industry, known for drama roles. His notable films include ''Ranganayaki,'' ''Sanadi Appanna'', ''Bayalu Daari'', ''Archana'', ''Chellida Rakta'', ''Thayiya Madilalli'', ''Raja Maharaja'' and ''Krantiyogi Basavanna''. Vidyasagar (15 April 1932 – 19 February 2022), known by his stage name Rajesh, was an Indian actor who appeared in Kannada films. Known as 'Kala Thapaswi', Rajesh was an ardent fan of literature. He appeared in many films as the lead in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later on gravitated to strong character roles. Musuri Krishnamurthy
Musuri Krishnamurthy (10 March 1930 – 16 March 1985) was an Indian actor, film director, producer, working in Kannada cinema. He was known mostly for his roles as a comedian. Early life Krishnamurthy was born on 10 March 1930 to B. S. Vishweshwaraiah and Subbamma. His father, Vishweshwaraiah was a zamindar in Bettadapura, Mysore. As a young boy, Krishnamurthy was drawn towards singing and acting. He exhibited his singing talent during a Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in front of carnatic vocalist Musiri Subramania Iyer and the then Maharaja of Mysore, Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV. Manju Bhargavi (born 1955) is an actress and dancer, best known for her performance in the Telugu blockbuster film Sankarabharanam (1979) and Nayakudu Vinayakudu (1980). Early life Manju Bhargavi parents originally hailed from Andhra Pradesh but settled in Madras. After marriage she settled in Bengaluru. Allama Prabhu
Allamaprabhu ( kn, ಅಲ್ಲಮಪ್ರಭು) was a 12th-century mystic-saint and ''Vachana'' poet (called ''Vachanakara'') of the Kannada language, propagating the unitary consciousness of Self and Shiva. Allamaprabhu is one of the celebrated poets and the patron saint of the Lingayata movement that reshaped medieval Karnataka society and popular Kannada literature. He is included among the "Trinity of Lingayathism", along with Basavanna, the founder of the movement, and Akka Mahadevi, the most prominent woman poet.
