Vikingarna (band)
Vikingarna is a Swedish dansband formed in Karlstad in 1958. It is the best-selling dansband, and one of the best-selling artists, in Scandinavia and is often regarded as the greatest dansband to have existed. At the time of its 2004 dissolution it had sold more than 11 million records. History 1958–1973: Formation and early years In 1958, as skiffle bands were reaching the height of their popularity in Europe, Ji-Coo and the Vikings were formed in Sweden, with Gunnar Olsson on guitar, Hans Axelsson on bass, Egon Olsson on drums, Svante Valjestöl on keyboards, Jens “Ji-Coo” Carlson on saxophone, and Newman Alexander on trumpet. The band did not have a lead singer at first, but after a series of auditions, Kerstin Larsson was hired for the job. Keith Almgren, is a pseudonym for Gunnar Almgren, born Almgren Johansson 8 November 1957 in Järfälla, Sweden, is a Swedish songwriter and music publisher. Keith Almgren has a solid background and has written over 1400 titles in the register of STIM. Keith Almgren has for example participated many times with several songs in the Swedish part of the Eurovision Song Contest as music publisher but also as songwriter. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list. VG-lista is a Norwegian record chart. It is presented weekly in the newspaper '' VG''. It is considered the primary Norwegian record chart, charting albums and singles from countries and continents around the world. The data are collected by Nielsen Soundscan International and are based on the sales in approximately 100 shops in Norway. Thore Skogman
Elof Lars "Thore" Skogman (9 March 1931 – 9 December 2007) was a popular Swedish singer, songwriter, actor and entertainer. Skogman was born in Hallstahammar, Sweden. While working as an accountant and sales manager during the 1950s, he made his debut recording in 1955, devoted his full-time to singing by 1961, and came third in Sweden's national song contest Melodifestivalen in 1963. In the 1960s he wrote "Fröken Fräken" (literally: ''Miss Freckle'') that became one of his most successful hits. Skogman also wrote songs for other Swedish and Scandinavian artists. Skogman was a familiar and popular fixture in Swedish movies, TV and radio shows, opera and stage performances from the 1960s through the 1980s. "Tiotusen röda rosor" is a song written by Thore Skogman. Recorded by Jan Høiland, it was released as a 1967 single (Polydor NH59747), and became a Svensktoppen hit charting for six weeks between 17 March-21 April 1968, which included the song topping the chart. Monica Yvonne Forsberg (born 14 September 1950) is a Swedish singer, songwriter and actress. She was a member in the group Ritz, which competed in Melodifestivalen in 1983 (which finished number 4 with the song "Marionett") and 1985 (with the song "Nu har det hänt igen", which finished unplaced). Jacob Dahlin (13 May 1952 in Kristianstad, Skåne, Sweden — 10 October 1991) was a Sweden, Swedish TV- and radio-host. His hosted his first radio program ''Galaxen'' ("The Galaxy") in the beginning of the 1980s. Guests included Swedish comedian Täppas Fogelberg.
