Kpeve
Kpeve is a small town located in the Volta Region of Ghana and divided into Kpeve Old Town, which is part of the Afadjato South District and Kpeve New Town which is part of the South Dayi District, the administrative district capital of South Dayi district. Location Kpeve is located at the northern end of the South Dayi District. It lies just to the west of the foot of the Akwapim Togo mountain range. Its nearest neighbour to the east is Goviefe Todzi, a village on the mountain. Just over to the east of the mountains is Bame, a junction town which leads north to Kpale Xorse and Kpale Kpalime. To the south east is Wegbe Kpalime. Directly south is Adzokoe, one of the Peki towns. Todome lies southwards between Adzokoe and Kpeve. South Dayi District
South Dayi District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kpando District on 10 March 1989, until the southern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 19 August 2004 to create South Dayi District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Kpando District (which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 28 June 2012 to become Kpando Municipal District). The district assembly is located in the western part of Volta Region and has Kpeve as its capital town. Background The is one of the eighteen districts in the Volta Region of Ghana. Wegbe Kpalime
Wegbe Kpalime is a village located in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region of Ghana. History The people of the Kpalime Traditional Area are believed to have migrated to their present locations from Notsé, Notsie in Togo. This was to escape the tyranny of Togbe Agorkorli, the king of Notsie. One large group migrated to the coast. The second group includes the people of Wegbe, Kpeve and Klefe among others who settled in the Volta midlands. People The indigenous population are the Ewe people, Ewe. Wegbe Kpalime is one of the main villages in the Kpalime Traditional Area. They are related to the other Kpalime towns which include Kpale, Todome, Tsatee, Hiama, Kaira, To and Duga. Duga is the main village of the Kpalime Traditional Area. The inhabitants of Wegbe celebrate the annual Kpalikpakpa zã or Kpalikpakpa festival around December each year. Kpale Kpalime
Kpaleis a village located in the Ho West District of the Volta Region of Ghana. It is one of the towns of the Kpalime Traditional Area. Location Kpale is located to the north of Bame. To the north are Hlefi and Anfoeta Gbogame. Kpale lies on the eastern edge of the Akwapim-Togo mountains. Kpeve, the capital of the South Dayi District is to the southwest of Kpale but over on the west of the Akwapim Togo mountain range. It is the biggest town close to Kpale. Volta Region
Volta Region (or Volta) is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples. Bame, Ghana
Bame is a village in the Ho West District of the Volta Region of Ghana. Location Bame is located just before the junction of one of the main roads running north to south in the region. After Bame, one branch goes left and over the Akwapim Togo mountain range to Kpeve where one could go south to the Peki Traditional Area or northwards towards Kpandu and Hohoe. Neighbours Its nearest neighbour is Wegbe Kpalime which is about a kilometre south east of Bame. Other towns beyond Bame in a southwesterly direction are Avenui, Nkwanta, Anyirawasi and Tsito. Sokode-Etoe is to the south east. To the east are Ho the Volta Regional capital, Matse, and Akoefe. Districts Of Ghana
The Districts of Ghana are second-level administrative subdivisions of Ghana, below the level of region. There are 261 local metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (or MMDA's). History The districts of Ghana were re-organized in 1988/1989 in an attempt to decentralize the government and to assist in development. The reform of the late 1980s subdivided the regions of Ghana into 110 districts, where local district assemblies should deal with the local administration. By 2006, an additional 28 districts were created by splitting some of the original 110, bringing their number up to 138. In February 2008, there were more districts created and some were upgraded to municipal status. This brought the final number to 170 districts in Ghana. Postal Codes In Ghana
Postal codes were adopted in Ghana on 18 October 2017, following the launch of the National Digital Address System. As a joint venture between Ghana Post (with support from the Government of Ghana]) and Vokacom Ltd as Ghana Post GPS, GhanaPost GPS, the Digital Address System assigned postal codes and unique addresses to every square in Ghana. Ghana's postal codes are alphanumeric.
