Kotturpuram
Kotturpuram, also known as Kottur, is a neighbourhood in Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, India and is situated in the Southern banks of the Adyar River. It is surrounded by Nandanam in the North and North-West, Adyar in the South-East, IIT Chennai and Guindy in the South and Little Mount (a part of Greater Saidapet) in the South-West. The neighbourhood is served by Kotturpuram MRTS railway station. Centuries old Hindu temples, such as Perumal Koil (around 1000 years) and Ponniamman Koil (around 400 years) are situated in Kottur. Anna Centenary Library Anna Centenary Library, one of South East Asia's largest libraries is located here. It was inaugurated by former Chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi. Kotturpuram Railway Station
Kotturpuram is a railway station on the Chennai MRTS. Situated on the banks of the Buckingham canal, the station is accessible through Ponniamman Koil Road in Kotturpuram. History Kotturpuram station was opened on 26 January 2004, as part of the second phase of the Chennai MRTS network. Structure The elevated station is built on the eastern banks of Buckingham Canal south of Adyar river. The length of the platform is 280 m. The station building consists of 4,312 sq m of parking area in its basement. Service and connections Kotturpuram station is the eleventh station on the MRTS line to Velachery. Anna Centenary Library
The Anna Centenary Library (ACL) is an established state library of the Government of Tamil Nadu. It is located at Kotturpuram, Chennai. It is built at a cost of 172 crores (1,720 million). It is named after a former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, C. N. Annadurai. It was opened by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi. The average number of persons who visited the library between January and October 2011 is around 26,500, compared to the monthly average of 20,000 in 2010. Infrastructure Built on 8 acres of land, the 9-floor library houses a total area of 333,140 sq. ft and has a capacity to accommodate 1.2 million books. Nandanam
Nandanam is a neighborhood in Chennai, India. It is a busy location and is home to many commercial institutions. This locality also offers a calm residential location. Nandanam Arts College was established in 1901. Nandanam Junction, on the arterial road Anna Salai, (commonly referred as "Nandanam signal") is one of the busiest junctions in Chennai. Greenways Road ( ta, பசுமைவழிச்சாலை) is a road and neighbourhood in Chennai, India. It is lined with the official residences of ministers of Tamil Nadu state government and judges of Chennai High Court. It also houses the Tahsildar district magistrate office of the Mylapore-Triplicane taluk. A park and memorial named after B. R. Mandavelli
Mandaveli (also known as Mandavelli or Mandavelipakkam) is a neighborhood in Chennai, India. It is also termed usually as Mandavelipakkam which in the Tamil language "Mandhai" is 'herd of cattle' and "Veli" is 'grassland'. Location Mandaveli is located close to the locality of Mylapore.
