Kotigobba
''Kotigobba'' () is a 2001 Indian Kannada-language action film starring Vishnuvardhan, Priyanka Upendra and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film was a remake of Rajinikanth's 1995 Tamil film ''Baashha''. This movie was directed by Naganna and features soundtrack from Deva who also composed the music for the Tamil version. Released on 16 November 2001, the film met with very good reviews and was declared as one of the biggest blockbusters completing a successful 30 weeks at the box office and the success function was held at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru on Saturday, 16 March 2002. In 2012, director Suresh Krissna who made the original version announced that he would be making a sequel to this film in Kannada language. Vishnuvardhan was nominated for Filmfare Best Actor category. A spiritual successor, ''Kotigobba 2'', starring Sudeep and directed by K. S. Ravikumar was released in 2016. ''Kotigobba 2'' () in Kannada ''Mudinja Ivana Pudi'' () in Tamil is a 2016 Indian action film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. The film features Sudeepa and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. The film was simultaneously produced by Rockline Venkatesh and M. Babu in Kannada and Tamil languages. Despite the title, the film is not a sequel to the 2001 film, ''Kotigobba''. The film revolves around Sathya, a real estate agent, who disguises himself as a professional robber and loots wealthy people. When the police begins their investigation, he tries to convince them that his identical twin brother Shiva is the culprit. ''Baashha'' is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language gangster action film written and directed by Suresh Krissna. The film stars Rajinikanth, Nagma and Raghuvaran, with Janagaraj, Devan, Shashi Kumar, Vijayakumar, Anandaraj, Charan Raj, Kitty, Sathyapriya, Shenbaga and Yuvarani in supporting roles. Priyanka Upendra (née Trivedi) is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Kannada Language films. Early life Priyanka was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata).
