Kosmas O Aitolos
Agios Kosmas ( el, Άγιος Κοσμάς) is a village, a community and a municipal unit of the Grevena municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was an independent municipality. The municipality was established in 1997 with the name ''Kosmas o Aitolos'' (), which was changed to ''Agios Kosmas'' in 2004. The seat of the municipality was in Megaro. The 2011 census recorded 49 residents in the village, 75 residents in the community and 870 residents in the municipal unit. The community of Agios Kosmas covers an area of 9.496 km2 while the municipal unit covers an area of 115.087 km2. The village is named after the 18th-century saint Cosmas the Aetolian. Administrative division The municipal unit of Agios Kosmas consists of nine communities: Agios Kosmas, Dasyllio, Kalirachi, Kalloni, Kydonies, Kyparissi, Megaro, Oropedio and Trikorfo. Western Macedonia ( el, Δυτική Μακεδονία, translit=Ditikí Makedonía, ) is one of the thirteen regions of Greece, consisting of the western part of Macedonia. Kydonies () is a village and a community of the Grevena municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was a part of the municipality of Kosmas o Aitolos, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 81 residents in the village and 104 residents in the community. The community of Kydonies covers an area of 18.829 km2. Kalloni, Grevena
Kalloni () is a village and a community of the Grevena municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was a part of the municipality of Agios Kosmas, of which it was a municipal district. The 2021 census recorded 13 residents in the village. The community of Kalloni covers an area of 9.447 km2. History The settlement was established in 1690 and was officially listed in the archives of the Monastery of Zavorda in 1797. The village was liberated in the Balkan wars in 1912 and renamed to Kalloni in 1926. Its former name was Lountzi. Grevena ( el, Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Γρεβενών, ''Perifereiakí Enótita Grevenón'') is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Western Macedonia. Its capital is the town of Grevena. Geography Grevena borders the regional units of Ioannina (Epirus) to the west, Kastoria to the northwest, Kozani to the north and east, Larissa to the southeast and Trikala to the south. The Pindus mountains cover the western part of the regional unit. Other mountain ranges are Chasia in the south and Vourinos in the northeast.
