Kornél Ábrányi
Kornél Ábrányi (; 15 October 1822 – 20 December 1903) was a Hungarian pianist, music writer and theorist, and composer. He was born in Szentgyörgyábrány. A pupil of Frédéric Chopin, and a close friend of Franz Liszt, whose music he championed, Ábrányi chiefly wrote music for piano, but also composed chamber music, choral works, and '' lieder.'' He began teaching at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music at its founding in 1875 and became its secretary. He was one of several people to use the pseudonym Kákay Aranyos. Kornel Andrzej Morawiecki (3 May 1941 – 30 September 2019) was a Polish politician, the founder and leader of Fighting Solidarity (Polish: ''Solidarność Walcząca''), one of the splinters of the Solidarity movement in Poland during the 1980s. His academic background was that of a theoretical physicist. He was also a member of the 8th legislature of the Sejm, of which was also the Senior Marshal on 12 November 2015. His son Mateusz Morawiecki is the Prime Minister of Poland and a former chairman of Bank Zachodni WBK. Life and career Morawiecki was born in Warsaw, Poland, the son of Michał and Jadwiga (née Szumańska). He graduated from the gimnazjum of Adam Mickiewicz in 1958 in Warsaw. Viktorin Kornel ze Všehrd (of Všehrdy) or simply Všehrd (1460-1520), was a Czech humanist and lawyer, working towards the end of the 15th century as Vice-scribe at the Land Court in the Prague Castle. He is famous for the most penetrating analysis of the Czech common law that he has put forward on some 460 pages under the title “On the Laws of the Czech Land Nine Books” („O právích země české knihy devatery“). Kornel Ujejski (; September 12, 1823 in Beremyany, Galicia, Austria - September 19, 1897 in Pavliv near Lviv, Galicia, Austria), also known as Cornelius Ujejski, was a Polish poet, patriot and political writer of the Austrian Empire and Austria-Hungary. He was named "last of the greatest Polish poets of Romanticism". Kornel was born in a village on Dniester between Buchach and Tlumach. Ujejski was involved in Poland's struggle for independence after it had been partitioned and erased from the map of Europe by neighbouring countries (Russian Empire, Prussia and Austrian Empire). In 1846, at the instigation of the Austrian Government during the Kraków Uprising, the Galician peasants massacred several thousand of the nobility. He is best known for his inventions and patents for spinning (textiles), spinning machines, devices for the Swedish National Defense and several types of tape recorders. Kornel Saláta (; hu, Saláta Kornél; born 24 January 1985) is a Slovak professional football who plays as a centre-back for MSO Štúrovo. Club career Saláta made his Corgoň Liga debut in the 2005–06 season for Matador Púchov. After season Púchov relegated to the Slovak First League and Saláta signed for Artmedia Petržalka. Kornél Pajor (1 July 1923 – May 2016) was a Hungarian speed skating World Champion. He was born in Budapest. Career In early 1943, Pajor was a young and promising skater of 19 years old, but because World War II was in progress there were not many competitions. In Klagenfurt, Austria, at one of the few skating competitions that year, he won the 3000 m. After the war, skating competitions slowly returned to normal, and Pajor participated in the 1948 Winter Olympics of St. Moritz, with a fourth place on the 10000 m as his best result. The next year, 1949, turned out to be Pajor's best year: He became Hungarian National Allround Champion for the fourth time and then won bronze at the European Allround Championships, while setting a new world record on the 5000 m during those championships. Vitéz Kornél Oszlányi (25 September 1893 – 16 November 1960) was a Hungarian military officer who served as division commander during World War II. Military career Kornél Oszlányi was born 25 September 1893, in Kaposvár, Hungary. He graduated from the Kassaer Infantry Cadet School in 1911. During World War I he was a company commander of the 52nd Infantry Regiment. In the battle of Nowica, Eastern Galicia in July 1917, he was decorated with the Gold Bravery Medal for extraordinary heroism. In 1927 he became a member of the Ministry of Defence. Between 1933 and 1936 he was the Head of Order of Vitéz's National Defence Department.
