Kooroona is a rural locality at the north end of the Yorke Peninsula of South Australia, situated directly south of the town of Moonta. It is located in the Copper Coast Council. Description The name and boundaries of Kooroona were formalised in January 1999, in respect of the long established local name. The area was alternatively known as Copper Valley, and had previously been known as South Bower, after a mining venture in the area. Narungga is a single-member Electoral districts of South Australia, electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It was created by the redistribution of 2016, and was contested for the first time at the 2018 South Australian state election, 2018 state election. It is named for the Narungga people who are the traditional owners of the lands in most of the electorate. Moonta Mines, South Australia
Moonta Mines is a locality at the northern end of the Yorke Peninsula, adjoining the town of Moonta. It is located in the Copper Coast Council. From 1861 to 1923, it was the centre of a copper mining industry that formed colonial South Australia's largest mining enterprise. Agery is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on Yorke Peninsula. It is situated 17 km south-east of Moonta. Moonta is a town on the Yorke Peninsula of South Australia, north-northwest of the state capital of Adelaide. It is one of three towns known as the Copper Coast or "Little Cornwall" for their shared copper mining history. Moonta Cemetery
The Moonta Cemetery in Moonta, South Australia was established under the Moonta Cemetery Trust in May 1866. Burials had occurred prior to that, with the town having been surveyed and land sold in March 1863. Plans for the cemetery were made in 1867 with walls erected between 1871 and 1876, the front gates made by J. H. Horwood and Co. of Adelaide. J. H. Horwood and Co. also cast the copper bell installed in 1896. The Moonta Cemetery, including wall, gates and waiting room were included in the South Australian Heritage Register on 28 November 1985. It is now managed by the District Council of the Copper Coast.
