Kontraktova Ploshcha (Kyiv Metro)
Kontraktova Ploshcha ( uk, Контрактова площа, ) is a station on Kyiv Metro's Obolonsko–Teremkivska Line. The station was opened on 17 December 1976, and is named after Kyiv's Kontraktova Square (''Contract's Square'') in the historic Podil neighborhood. It was designed by B.I. Pryimak, I.K. Maslenynkov, and F.M. Zaremba. The station was formerly known as ''Chervona Ploscha'' ( uk, Червона площа) until 1990. The station is located shallow underground and consists of a central hall with columns. The columns and the walls along the tracks have been covered with green-brown coloured marble. Passenger tunnels connect the station to the Kontraktova Square and another street. The station hall has two exits, one of which is equipped with escalators. Podilskyi District
The Podilskyi District ( uk, Подільський район) is an urban district of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Its population was 177,563 at the 2001 census. The district takes its name from the historic Podil neighborhood which it includes within its boundaries. The Podilskyi District as an administrative entity was formed in 1921 on one of the largest historical neighborhoods in Kyiv. In May 2001 the Podilskyi District celebrated the 80th anniversary of its foundation. The district remains one of the main business, transport, and industrial areas of Kyiv. Kyiv Metro
The Kyiv Metro ( uk, Ки́ївський метрополіте́н, Kyivskyi metropoliten, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv that is owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivsky Metropoliten''.'' It was initially opened on November 6th, 1960, as a single line with five stations. It was the first rapid transit system in Ukraine and the third in the Soviet Union, after the Moscow and St. Petersburg metros. Kontraktova Square
Square of Contracts or Contract Square ( uk, Контрактова площа, translit.: ''Kontraktova ploshcha'') is a square in the historic Podil neighborhood of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The square is an important economic, cultural, and transport center of the Podil, containing numerous architectural and historical monuments. History Contract Square is known since the Kyivan Rus' times as an important part of the Podil merchant neighborhood. The square lies in between the Andriyivskyy Descent, Sahaidachny, Pokrivska, Florivska, Prytisko-Mykilska, Kostiantynivska, Mezhyhirska, Spaska, Skovorody and Ilynska streets.
