Konotop (german: Kontoppe) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kolsko, within Nowa Sól County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland. It lies approximately south-west of Kolsko, north-east of Nowa Sól, and east of Zielona Góra. The village has a population of 1,400. The name of the village is of Polish origin and comes from the word ''koń'', which means "horse". Karl Wilhelm Von Dieskau
Karl Wilhelm von Dieskau (9 August 1701 – 14 August 1777) was a Prussian lieutenant general and general inspector of the artillery. He participated in twelve campaigns, ten battles, nine sieges. He received the Black Eagle Order, the Order Pour le Mérite, and was included in 1851 on the Equestrian statue of Frederick the Great. He is general credited with creating Frederick the Great's vaunted horse artillery. Nowa Sól is a city on the Oder River in Lubusz Voivodeship, western Poland. It is the capital of Nowa Sól County and had a population of 38,763 (2019). Zielona Góra Airport () is a regional airport in the Zielona Góra urban area (the Lubusian Tri-city) in western Poland.
