Kolangal (1995 Film)
''Kolangal'' is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by I. V. Sasi. The film stars Jayaram and Kushboo. It was released on 15 September 1995. Plot Ganga, a Tamil girl who doesn't know Hindi, looks for her friend Malini in Mumbai. She then meets Bairavan, a Tamil man, who says that he knows Malini and Bairavan then sells Ganga to a brothel. The Tamil Nadu Police raids at the brothel to rescue Tamil women and they save most of them including the innocent Ganga. Anand , a police officer, is worried about Ganga and she tells him about her past. After Ganga's father died, Ganga lived in her sister's house but her brother-in-law tried to rape her. She left the house and decided to go to Mumbai. So, Anand drops Ganga in her sister's house and to Anand's surprise, her angry brother-in-law beat her in front of him. Anand intervenes and saves her. Henry (producer)
Henry is an Indian film producer and film distributor, who heads the studios Carolina Films and Pangaj Productions. History Henry began his film career as a producer through Carolina Films and notably made ''Yavanika'' (1982), a Malayalam film with Mammootty in the lead role. The film performed well commercially and launched the career of Mammootty, while Henry won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film prize. Despite the success, Henry moved on to make Tamil films and produced several films in Madras. He made '' Kolangal'' (1995) through Carolina Films, but created Pangaj Productions for his next release ''Bharathi Kannamma'' (1997), the debut of director Cheran. Arunmozhi ( ta, அருண்மொழி) (also called Napoleon Selvaraj) (born 1951) is an Indian playback singer and well-known flutist. He has sung songs composed by leading Indian film industry music directors, including Ilaiyaraaja, Shankar Ganesh, Deva, S. A. Rajkumar, Viji Manuel, Swararaj, Harris Jayaraj, Sirpy, Vidyasagar, Soundaryan, Karthik Raja, Siva, Masa, Dhina and Yuvan Shankar Raja. He has also performed in live concerts across the world. He is a part of Ilaiyaraaja's musical troupe, playing flute. Nagoor Babu, known by his stage name Mano, is an Indian playback singer, voice-over artist, actor, producer, television anchor and composer. A ''raga'' or ''raag'' (; also ''raaga'' or ''ragam''; ) is a melodic framework for improvisation in Indian classical music akin to a melodic mode. Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (born 29 October 1931 – 18 July 2013) was an Indian poet who is the highest songs wrote lyricist in cinema and whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade long association with the Tamil film industry, wrote over 15,000 songs. Tamil Nadu State Film Awards were given for excellence in Tamil cinema in India. They were given annually to honour the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the South Indian film industry by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The awards were decided by a committee headed by a Judge. The awards were first given in 1967 and discontinued after 1970. The awards were given again in 1977 and continued till 1982. The awards were not given in the years 1971 to 1976. However, in the year 1977, the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor were announced for the years 1971 to 1976 by way of honorary certificates by the government led by the then chief minister M.G.Ramachandran.
