Kokrajhar () is a town in the Bodoland Territorial Region, an autonomous territory in Assam, one of the North Eastern states of India. Kokrajhar town is located along the bank of the river Gaurang. The North East Indian Railways divides the city into two divisions, north and the south Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar town is the headquarters of Kokrajhar district and the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). Gaurang (alternately spelled Gaurang or Gwrang) is a -long river which originates in Bhutan and flows southward into India. It first enters India in Chirang district, where it is known as Swrmanga, then flows westward into Kokrajhar district, then turns south into Dhubri district, where it terminates on the right bank of the Brahmaputra River. Barauni–Guwahati Line
The Barauni–Guwahati railway line connects Barauni, Saharsa, Purnia and Katihar in the Indian state of Bihar and in Assam via Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar and Alipurduar in West Bengal. Rupsi Airport is an airport located in Rupsi (about from Gauripur town) situated at Kokrajhar district near the border of Dhubri district of Assam. Gossaigaon is one of the developing town in the Bodoland region of Assam, India. This is a sub-divisional headquarter of Kokrajhar district.
