Tom Koehler
Thomas R. Koehler (born June 29, 1986) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Koehler played college baseball at Stony Brook University for the Stony Brook Seawolves and was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 18th round of the 2008 MLB Draft. He played six seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays. After not appearing in a major league game since 2017, Koehler retired in 2020 due to numerous injuries. Koehler ranks top ten in numerous Marlins franchise pitching statistics, including games started, innings pitched, strikeouts, earned run average (ERA) and walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP). He currently remains the last Marlins pitcher to have ever started 30 games in three consecutive seasons for the team. Herman Koehler
Herman John Koehler (December 14, 1859 – July 1, 1927) was an American football coach, athletics administrator, and United States Army officer. He served as the head football coach at the United States Military Academy from 1897 to 1900, compiling a record of 19–11–3. Koehler was also the Master of the Sword from 1885 to 1923 and director of West Point's first program of physical education instruction. Due to his long-serving tenure and his impact on the Department of Physical Education, he is held in high regard and is considered the "father of the Department of Physical Education" at West Point. Robert Koehler
Robert Koehler (November 28, 1850 – April 23, 1917) was a German-born painter and art teacher who spent most of his career in the United States. Biography Koehler was born in Hamburg; his family spelled their name Köhler until they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1854. There he attended the historic German-English Academy. He graduated from the academy in 1865, but continued his lessons with the school's drawing master, Henry Vianden, who had graduated from Munich's Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He apprenticed himself to a lithography firm. In 1871, he went to New York City for eye surgery, and stayed to work as a lithographer. After studying drawing in the night classes of the National Academy of Design, Koehler went to Munich to study fine art at the Royal Academy in 1873, studying with Karl von Piloty and Ludwig Thiersch. Bernhard Koehler
Bernhard Koehler (born 7 November 1849 in Berlin; died 30 March 1927 in Berlin) was a German industrialist and art collector. Life Koehler, who came from a family of merchants, grew up in Berlin. In 1876, Koehler founded the ''Mechanische Werkstätten'' (lit. 'Mechanical Workshops'). The company, located in Berlin-Kreuzberg, was internationally successful and allowed Koehler to amass a substantial fortune. Beside his businesswork Koehler became an art collector. In the 1900s, Koehler came into contact with German painters in Munich such as August Macke or Franz Marc via his niece Elisabeth Gerhardt, who in 1909 eventually married Macke. He became a patron of Macke and gave him 300 Franc for a journey to Paris. Since 1910, Koehler also gave 200 Mark each month to Franz Marc, who was rather poor. James Stark Koehler (10 November 1914 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin – 19 June 2006 in Urbana, Illinois) was an American physicist, specializing in metal defects and their interactions. He is known for the eponymous Peach-Koehler stress formula. Florence Koehler (1861 – 1944) was an American craftswoman, designer and jeweler. She was one of the best-known jewelers of the Arts and Crafts movement that flourished in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Biography Florence Cary was born on November 8, 1861 in Jackson, Michigan to Harriet (''née'' Banker) and Benjamin F. Cary. She grew up in Missouri and moved to Kansas City in 1881. She married Frederick Koehler and was Head of the Ceramics Department at Kansas City Art School by 1893. They moved to Chicago where she exhibited her ceramics at the World's Columbian Exposition.
